Excellent food and a great vibe. Jeff made our dining experience very relaxing and Damon helped us pick the perfect wine. One of our favorite places in Telluride. Will be back again.
This was amazing. All the food was cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. Service was very informative with the menu, attentive with drink refills and removing plates from the table. Everything was flawless. Highly recommend.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: NoDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: No
I ordered the surf and turf and I thought it was very good! The reason for 3 stars was bc of our waiter. However, management worked hard to fix the issue. I didn’t like that it took awhile to get service even with our reservation and I finally decided to ask the waiter if we were going to get some of the delicious bread that I read about on previous reviews. He said yep it’s coming right up and he went over to the bread station and grabbed the cut loaf with his bare hands and sloppy tossed it on a plate. The bread had a great texture, but it was not warm it was cold inside like it had been frozen and not warmed enough. My companion also asked for no oyster mushroom sauce on his steak and the waiter said it was very good though and he would put it on the side. The reply was no thank you don’t even put it on the side . When the steak came it had the mushrooms all over it. We weren’t pleased about that. We overheard some other couples complaining also. We got a new waiter and another steak, but it kinda ruined the nice dinner.
Another great dining experience! Our server had little personality but was attentive. Food quality is exceptional. We will be back
Excellent and friendly service from this very busy restaurant and staff. Miriam, at the bar, was top notch. This place is popular and you should make a reservation but if not, their outdoor desk is standby as is there small bar inside. The bread is amazing. The Tuna smoked in the plate was very unique and delicious ! The chopped salad was also incredible. Check them out, You’ll be happy you did!
Was like a bad hallucination of fine dining, exceptionally atrocious food. The salmon was one of the worst plates of food I’ve had in memory, and at $34, say what! Cloyingly sweet glaze on the fish that reminded me of bad Chinese-American sweet and sour sauce - but much much worse. With a corn purée huh? in the middle of winter?!? that was an unnatural radioactive nuclear yellow and just as appetizing as plutonium. I was so impressed with just how horrific the plate was, had to text a pic to a friend who is the head chef at a two star Michelin restaurant. Her reaction: “Hahaha, what the bleep is happening on that plate!” Appetizer was a duck croquette, where the flavor profile seems to have been an attempt to highlight the flavor of cooking oil, plus some very sad looking arugula. Table-mate had the steak, his feedback: a very mediocre and unremarkable $60 cut of meat. On the upside, the bread was decent and our server charming.
i didn't have dinner here. i had only drinks and dessert. some nice cocktails menu and desert menu looks great too. i had blueberry pie. it was good.
Solid happy hour from 4-5pm in bar area only with $8 wines and $12 sushi rolls. We had a really pleasant bar tender as well.
I find it unfortunate that I feel compelled to write this review. I have enjoyed Cosmopolitan in the past and found their past performance exemplary. That is why I was shocked that our experience this time was beyond excusable. My wife, son and I went for dinner during our annual fall visit to Telluride. As per my usual, I called first to notify the restaurant that my son has a life-threatening allergy to nuts and made sure that they could appropriately take care of such a guest - which they said they could. During dinner, I repeatedly explained to the waiter the seriousness of the allergy to which he assured me that he would check every order for potential contamination of nuts. We ordered table bread after checking with Diego and another wait staff that it was safe. My son was very excited to eat the bread because usually table bread in a restaurant is not safe. Our dinner was acceptable but not exceptional as expected. The next day we decided that since the bread was safe that we would order some to go. We talked with Mindy about getting bread and she informed us, much to our shock, that the bread was not safe and indeed had been prepared around pecans. She had no explanation why the wait staff would tell us that it was safe and though she apologized I found her attitude about the issue to be dismissive. Since my son had no reaction, I suppose she found the point moot. I am thankful that my son had no reaction as at best it would mean a trip to the hospital and at worse it could mean death. I found myself sick thinking that we had so narrowly avoided such a consequence and that the restaurant that we had entrusted found no explanation as to why they put us in that position. Restaurants are charged with dealing with food allergies and many do it quite well, such as Smugglers Union in Telluride which we had an incredibly enjoyable time the next evening. It is the obligation of the restaurant when they agree to serve a person with a food allergy to make sure the service staff will follow the appropriate protocol and know their own food. If Cosmopolitan can fail so miserably in keeping a guest safe, then they cannot be trusted to execute any service to their patrons. It is my recommendation that no one ever visit this restaurant.
Extremely pleased and more than happy with both Nicko and John’s help and recommendations. A miscommunication on my end during ordering was fixed promptly which was appreciated. My only small complaint was that the service was not quite to the levels I had expected based on reviews and other peoples suggestions. A bit slow even for dinner and we had almost finished our half bottle of wine we had ordered to drink with our entrees, before we had been able to flag a bartender down or get one to notice to place our entree order. The somm was fantastic with his suggestion however and it paired perfectly. Food was fantastic and we were lucky enough to also be able to enjoy a couple of happy hour apps.
