This Costco has a gas station as well, which is great as Costco consistently has the best priced gas in the Bay Area. The staff is very helpful and if you really like their home brand Kirkland products, this is definitely a place to shop at for some great deals.
I wish here could give me an option of negative stars. I have been shopping in this Costco for over a decade, observing the gradual changes of their store culture. Now the store is almost exclusively staffed with Hispanic store associates and they have formed a stronger and stronger discrimination against Asian customers, at a very primal level. Because it is near my house I still go shopping there very often. Today I went there to pick up the prescriptions for my dog and I did a little shopping too. As usual I went to the self-checkout lane to save time. I left my dog in the car so I needed to get back to my car quickly. The two customers in front of me were guided by the associate named "Oscar" when a station became available. When another station was open he didn't make any signal to me so I went there directly, with him standing next to it. Over my scanning to check course he came back a couple of times just looking without greeting or offering any help. When I finished, Oscar came over standing right in front of my cart blocking my way. I asked him, "The items will be counted at the exit, right?" Since I knew their policy has changed a long ago that the associate at the self-check out no longer counts or marks the receipt but leaving this task to the associates at the exit. Oscar said, "everyone counts". With a total member of 9 items, that I laid flat/non-overlapping to facilitate the associate at exit, Oscar counted a few times, again and again. Then he gave me back my receipts saying, "you'll be counted by the front too!" I then stood by the next isle, so not blocking any customers. I watched how Oscar interacted with other customers. Over the whole 10' or so four more customers did self checkout he never checked their receipts, he guided other customers when a station became available. Then Oscar saw me standing there, he walked directly to me, saying, "You asked me to count your items. You asked for it". I said "No. You are changing the story. You are now lying" He immediately pointed to a lady at the manager station saying, "Go talk to her, she is the manager" showing fearless of my potential complaint against him. I asked the manager on the policy, she said, the associates should count then circle the number of items on the receipts. It is contradictory to my experience and knowledge that they stopped doing this for months. I told the manager that it’s perfectly ok to check or not to check, but everybody needs to be treated the same. I was singled out by Oscar, what made me different? Being the only Asian woman through my observation. This is not that Oscar's English is bad enough to misunderstand me, otherwise he should not be working at a customer-facing job. It was obvious that Oscar abused his little power to bully me, the only Asian woman when I was there. Another observation is, one Chinese ethnic snack, "pork jerky" was put under a price tag of dog treats in an area of human snacks, with pet stuff all the way at the other end of the store. I thought at first it was funny and was a mistake. But given my experience of their iron-safe protection of each other culture in the store, I honestly cannot believe it could be an "honest mistake". The store culture is rotten! Attaching pictures of the pork jerky item description and my receipts without the "circles" on the number of items.
Walked out of Costco with my new glasses. You know how clean and pristine glasses are when you first put them on and they've never been worn before. The sky opened up and I thought Jesus Christ was coming back! What a beautiful sunset! Just kidding about Jesus lmao
Costco is great, they have so many different options in products that you most likely can find what you're looking for. The service there is exceptional and they are very very helpful. And my grandkids love going because they give out samples. LOL
Visiting the area .. n wanted dessert. Good sale $9.99. 2 package Danish of 4 each ... Almond n Cream Cheese n just looking around... Awesome .. we had Keurig coffee at Holiday inn Express .. decaf for evening snack n took it to the beach after a long hike
Typical as far as Costco's go. Crowded, hard to find stuff. I've heard reports of crime in the parking lot, but didn't see anything sketchy and felt safe at 10:30am.
Came here for the pizza and stayed for the low prices on everyday goods. The toilet paper and the bottled water were far cheaper than what i wouldve paid for if i went to trader joes so it made sense for me to stick around and find out what else i couldve bought for cheap. Ill keep coming back.
The Redwood City Costco is one of my favorite Costco's to go to. The layout is good, lots of organic items and they have a gas station
I was extremely disappointed with the customer service at Costco. The cashiers were rude and unaccommodating, and the managers were no better. I have never received such poor treatment at a store before, and it has left a bad taste in my mouth. I do not plan on returning to this location in the future.
They've got cheeseburgers now for $4.99. it's actually a double and very satisfying! Otherwise, it's your same Costco. Parking lots get very full on weekends which is due in part to the attached gasoline stations unlike the Foster City location. Lines don't take that long in the store on weekends. But, is you can go during the week it's almost empty. Friday nights are also a good time to visit.
