Welcome to Costello's Tavern, located on Centre Street in the heart of Jamaica Plain.

Since 1935, our family-owned restaurant and sports bar has been serving quality comfort food, dynamically mixed cocktails, and a selection of local and imported brews for the neighborhood we're proud to call home—JP. Join us at Costello's Tavern in Jamaica Plain for food, drinks, and good company.

Serving food daily from 11:30am to 11:30pm. Bar stays open til 2am.

Got a Sam Adams Octoberfest and an Allagash White. Both tasted great and the bartender had exceptional service. The place was very busy and ordering took a little bit, but it was more than understandable because of how many drink orders he had. Can't speak on the food; only had drinks when we stopped by.Service: 5/5
Oh my Gawd !!! It's been 20 years since I been inside here. I see that Boston Burger Company took over the kitchen so I know it was all remodeled and what a delight. I started with the enormous super crispy onion rings !!! Then I got the Papi burger and it was just too good. It had a hotdog inside and I ate it separate ..... bcuz it was just too amazing The vibe is great here and the bartender / server big smile and great service.
Went back for the first time since the reopening. I enjoyed it. Server seemed new but was accommodating. Prices more expensive than Galway house so I don’t see myself going back unless I’m unable to grab a seat at the bar. $6 Tall Boy Turtle Swamp can was a steal though Edit: Been back a couple of times since and the atmosphere has really improved. Best place for game days and friendly service at the bar. Recently had Boston Burger Company take over their kitchen. Expensive but the burgers were delicious
Fun pub in Jamaica Plain. TV's visible from all angles, great for watching sports. Boston burger company runs the kitchen with a great food menu!
I lost 99% of my brain cells ordering here. I put Gluten-Free bun for my burger because they labeled a normal bun as a ‘deli roll’… I get my order and its a patty with cheese in a tin foil… I ask what happened they said they don’t have gluten free buns. I’d think the smart thing to do was either give me a normal bun, and/or let me know instead of me going home to tinfoil..
Just had a quick dinner at Costello's yummy!! Had a veggie burger n cole slaw n 2 very delicious n potent dirty martinis .service was 5 star worthy...very friendly n courteous .will be back for sure .next time will take pictures..sorry forgot the name of our wonderful server was there 5pm sunday .awesome experienceFood: 5/5
The new kitchen, run by Boston Burgers, is outstanding. We love it here now. Burger menu is huge and food is absolutely delicious.Food: 5/5
The burgers were really good. You can create so many flavors for your food. The kitchen was a separate entity from the bar. The beers were cold the service was on point. Just paying the bill was weird. Definitely would go backFood: 4/5
Great local spot for a burger and a beer. Tasty food, esp with the new menu, great beer and drink selection and the bartenders are just the best people. My wife and I love going here - we will be back!
Myself and 2 friends had selected our table at around 6:20 on this Friday night. It took over 20 minutes for us to receive our 3 margaritas, plus a water for myself as my 2 friends already had theirs. With no warning from our server who passed us multiple times to serve the tables both in front of and behind us, but also never informed us that our plates are being cooked or delayed, our orders came at just after 7:30. I ordered a well done burger with 2 patties, but only received one. With cold buns. I informed our server that my burger only came with one patty and cold hamburger buns, only to be told that the bread was cold because I never specifically instructed that I want the bread toasted. Never had that issue anyplace else, but okay. I received the warm bread and additional patty which was on the house at least 15 minutes later, but the patty itself felt & tasted rock hard. Also, a large group of people at least a party of 10 who sat in the table behind us and also came at least 20 minutes after us were served well before we were, and left well before we did, no questions asked. We spent 2 hours here, with the first hour looking at the clock on our phones wondering what had taken so long. By far, the worst experience we had dealt with at any establishment.
