I ordered for the first time the other day, as with any new Chinese I ordered the simplest thing I could think of to see if I should be more adventurous later. I ordered wonton soup and chicken and broccoli. The food was great and the service was equally so. The place was clean, and I could see the entire kitchen from the counter, all the stainless steel was well maintained and pretty spotless. I will order again as the simple items I ordered we're fresh and flavorful. I have high hopes that Cottage Express will maintain a 5 star rating. *Update, it's been 4 years with consistent food and service, still happy to support the business.*
Food was great. Been going to Chin Chins on Albemarle Rd for decades. But the quality has dipped along with the portions. Tried this place out. Now it’s the go to. The place isn’t the best looking, but don’t let that deter you. Just don’t say u weren’t warned. LolFood: 5/5
11 pm closing time is why I rate this place with 4 stars. Not many good food choices in this area with late business hours. Evening cooks seem to cook food better than day time cooks tasty & fresh in the evening, opposed to bland & sloppy food during lunch/afternoon hours. Customer service is not the best any time of the day, but decent food portions for the price. Delivery time is usually always more than an hour wait time, so pick up is your best choice.
Someone once told me the best Chinese takeout was a 3-star establishment, and I couldn't agree more. Fair prices, reliably good food, and great value. Better than average quality chicken and darn good fried rice. Nice folks, too.Food: 4/5
The owners need to invest in better employees that provide better customer service. The female that answers the phone with the Hispanic accent is VERY RUDE. She constantly makes mistakes with the order and then blames the customer. The food is good but the service will drive you away. When their employee makes a mistake, the customer pays for it or for the correction. I recommend Chin Chin on Albemarle road, their service is AMAZING AMD FOOD TOO!
I recently submitted a negative review on this establishment based off the recent news coverage, but have come to realize this is not the right location. To the owner- I saw your response and I apologize for mixing up the locations. I have deleted the one star review.
I visited the location on E W.T.Harris Blvd for takeout. I ordered the lunch special shrimp and broccoli. Food was tasty, however I only received 3 shrimp...

We ordered our food at 5:38 called the store at 6:43 and they said the food just left the store. The delivery man did not get here till 7:10. We spent $70 and waited over an hour and a half on cold, nasty food. The food is horrible, the service is horrible. Do not waste your money here. They use to be my favorite Chinese fast food restaurant. They have gone down hill in the last year. Sucks for them because I spend a lot of money every time we go. *The shrimp is to gross to even eat.
