This is a great little bar and restaurant. I was on a motorcycle adventure around the northern US and was traveling up hwy 89 in a horrendous thunderstorm. I saw this place off to my left and stopped in to dry out and get something warm. The amazing woman there, Katy, was wonderful. The food was excellent and the hospitality is second-to-none. I highly recommend this place and hope to go there again on my journeys.
Service was good, very accommodating, just had to ask for every little thing..like silverware, napkins, etc.. Food was over priced and not very good. Hot wings had zero flavor, not even mild buffalo flavor. Loaded Nachos, chips were very hard and stale, ingredients not as fresh as could be. Salsa, had to ask for it and we got half a cup and it was so suspect...plastic wrap in it..some thing that fell apart when tried to get out..no clue, just . Hog wings...just chunks of pork on a stick. No seasoning or much flavor, but better than other food..drinks were good though, just very warm red beer. Hopefully they will be back on their game more when the season picks up.
Nice little out of the way place hidden in a canyon with beautiful scenery. We've ridden here just to have drinks and hang out. Just about an hour out of Great Falls, with friendly staff and locals, you'll feel welcome.
Very cool spot in the middle of the Montana outback. Stopped by to grab burgers and a beer. It was the middle of the day but if it was great then I can only imagine with more people and live music.Food: 5/5
Great example of a Montana bar! The environment itself was welcoming and had charm ice only seen in Montana. The local is amazing, with some of the best views a bar could have. Food was good, and portion size was fitting for price. Drinks were also well priced. If anything, drinks were cheap and well mixed. The staff is some of the friendliest, too! Adam was the bartender the night I went, and the man is a gem. He was all over the place helping people, getting drinks to the band, talking orders for food...and he had a smile on his face the entire time. Can't wait to go back!

Stopped here for a bite of lunch and sat out on their very small deck. Lunch was good and there was one other table out there with two couples riding motorcycles, they had been to Sturgis South Dakota for the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Excellent experience; my wife and I made reservations with for the ski and stay package. Check in was easy, professional, and made us feel welcomed. The staff was very pleasant, professional and courteous. The room was comfortable and cozy. Dinner was awesome; the steak was delicious and perfectly cooked to my liking, the fish was delish; my wife loved it. Amber and her coworker were great hosts and made us feel very welcomed. Reggie was great in helping us get settled into our room and giving us explanations of the pool area, hot tub and breakfast in the morning. The owners should be proud in having such a great place and awesome staff. All in all a great place to stay and be. We will be back! My wife and I highly recommend Cougar Canyon Bar and Hotel to any and all travelers.
A must-stop if you're visiting Montana or close by. Just down the road from Showdown ski hill and gorgeous national forest with plenty of camping. Great food and cold beer in a fun, classic atmosphere. Jim the bartender was incredible, so was Cheryl and the owner, Rick. Stop by and you won't regret it!
A must stop local! In fact, you should stop twice because it’s that good. Try the walleye, it’s perfect! Good service! Great atmosphere!
