When we first decided to give council cup a try we were very hesitant because of how it was with the previous owner. We went ahead and booked a site for the season, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the improvements and the staff. Everyone does their very best to make everyone feel like they are part of the camping family and the owners would give you the shirt off their backs to help out. This season they put in a new playground on the second tier with money raised from different events held over the season. They are currently raising money for a big playground for the first tier as well. There have been bumps in the road over the camping season but the owners and staff work quickly to resolve them. We can’t say enough good things about the staff and how much they have done to improve the campground. They even started 4 haunted attractions for the whole month of October to bring something fun in the area for everyone. We just booked our seasonal spot for next camping season! Can’t wait to see all the positive changes to come!
My mother found the haunted trails online so we decided to try it out because we never heard of it before. We were so pumped up for it, they were talking a great game so we thought ut would be really good. The price was very expensive, 25$ per person per attraction. We tried to find our way to council cup got lost once because of no signs. We found it eventually, paid our way to go in went in this sketchy van, and they took us to ANOTHER vehicle to get us where we were supposed to walk in the woods. We waited 5 minutes for the truck to come after being dumped off from the car then when we were finally able to start the walk we got lost, the scares had to tell us where to go. Got lost multiple other times. There were no arrows or even lights to point us in the right direction. There were in total probably 3 people that tried scaring us. The rest were setups. If they lowered their prices by 10-15$ put arrows or small lanterns to show us where to go and get better scares to scare us then i would absolutely go again. The place where it actually was was a nice set up in the woods and dark. The people were very friendly though and welcoming.
Me and my 3 other friends visited the horror trail tonight at council cup and it couldn't be worse. First of all it was 25$ per person for each attraction which was 100$ in total! We had to take 2 different cars and the people driving where talking so good about it and got our hopes up. When we actually got on the trail there was no sign or anything telling us where to go in the complete darkness we got lost about 4 times to the point where we had to ask the clown where to go. It was a total of a 5 minute walk. We where so disappointed and how we spent all of our money. They also tried to bribe us to come again and spend 30$ per person! Unbelievable. Do not take your kids here!
Love this place! Lots to do and the owners are very friendly. Nice place to get away. It’s very beautiful and one of the best in the area. The only downfall was the WiFi, I asked if there was a user name or password and they said no. There is a playground for kids and a nice shower room if you don’t have one in you camper or if you’re tent camping.
Had a great time. Very friendly campers really make you feel welcomed. At first I was Hesitant after reading a lot of the older reviews but the new owners has done a beautiful job in a short time period. 4 new cabins and from the outside they look great. The waterfall is not a bad walk and beautiful definitely worth it. And if you are into primitive camping they have really primitive site’s on the mountain. But if you like being around other’s they also have nice campsites. And the bathroom was very clean. What a great weekend. thank you!
Set beautifully in the peaceful Pennsylvania country. I’d highly recommend Council Cup for families looking for a peaceful get away. I loved everything about my trip. Everything from the organization to the curtesy of the staff. The owner is incredibly personable and only wants a the most comfortable & beautiful visit for you and your guests. Finally if you like photography there are many great views to take advantage of at the campground.
Went here and stayed in one of the new cabins Labor Day weekend and it was so nice. The family friendly atmosphere, with the camp layout, and special events make this place nice to stay at. Under new ownership since 2019, seems lots of improvements and event for the guests are always being planned. Definitely would recommend for a nature get away.
Came to this awesome place to celebrate my wife 39th birthdayOctober 17-19. We stayed in the older large cabin overlooking the creek bed which we actually enjoyed. The campground crew are some amazing people. We had a slight issue with igniting the heater and Eric came through with an extra heater just in case they were unable to light it. But he was able to light the furnace and he even came back to check on us to make sure it stayed lit so we would not freeze during the night. Now that is great customer service. The onsite camp store had all the necessities we needed. The long term campers there were very friendly and caring people and the children were very friendly and talkative which we loved. The camp grounds itself were nice as well as the hike to the onsite waterfall. An overall amazing experience and we will be back to bring our children. I highly recommend this campground, especially if you are looking to disconnect from everyday life, as there is little to no phone reception. My only suggestion would be to paint the inside cabin walls and cabinets a dark color or the color of the ceiling fan, and to get a smaller shower head to prevent water from getting on the bathroom floor and name the cabin Night Hawk.
This is a very nice campground. My fiancé and I stayed here a little while ago and we loved it! The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful and there are many nice trails as well. Lots of wildlife! The management/owners are very helpful and knowledgeable. We will definitely be going back!
Our experience at this campground has been amazing!!! We moved in at the beginning of the season back in May. Since then there have been a lot of changes under the management of the new owners!!! The new owners have done a terrific job updating and cleaning up the property in just a short 6 months. They have remodeled cabins, painted the bath houses and pavilions, reinforced and painted the playground and fixed the roads that lead to each of the 3 levels of the grounds. That’s just the beginning of what they have in store for upcoming seasons. It has been so much fun meeting new people who have been so kind and friendly!! We’ve had numerous gatherings at the main pavilion with live music, food, games and hay rides!!! 4th of July weekend they put on a fireworks display and at Halloween a Trunk or Treat for the kids!!! I love our new campground family!!!
