The classroom is 'dressed up' with around 30 places for students to sit as well as a recitation area up front. Books have been made to teach from specially for this school. Spring summer and fall are the best times to plan a program. Programs are offered to groups of around 50 people/students. Until we get the other school done. We are in the process of saving another school, its outhouses and its coal shed. Children will get to bring in the coal/fire wood and all of the works! You will not be disappointed! Open by appointment.
Being in the real thing is far better than reading about it in a book!! Our mission is to educate today's generation about the early schools of Sumner County Kansas. This is a great educational experience for the young and the elderly!
We want to welcome visitors and area schools that would like to schedule a field trip in the near future! Not just school groups but any group willing to participate in a program are welcome! Open by appointment.
