We took a last minute camping trip this past weekend, the campground was clean, the staff was inviting and super friendly! The bathrooms were hot, but it’s camping! : we enjoyed our stay! The pool was so clean and refreshing! All 4 boys had a blast! We enjoyed our stay! We needed a camper and tent site next to eachother to accommodate our party of 10 and they did! Wonderful place to go and visit! Will return again in the future!
We just arrived home yesterday after a 4 night/5 day stay. There were some things that we liked, but unfortunately some others we did not. Pros: *Staff members were nice and seemed to like their jobs. *The pool was very clean and refreshing. *It was very quiet, even when busy on Saturday. *Our kids loved playing Gaga Ball! *The wagon ride and glow train were cute for the kids *The water did not have a sulfur smell like some other campgrounds. *Price for the site was very reasonable Cons: *Site was pretty small, and very hard to back a camper into, as it was angled and the posts on the other side of the road were difficult to work around. *Bath house was not cleaned the entire 5 days we were there. My husband went in upon arrival and said someone had shaved at the sink and left beard trimmings all over. Those beard trimmings were still there when we left. He did not inform anyone, as he wanted to see if the bathrooms were actually being cleaned as their website brags about the “certifiably clean bathrooms”. Ladies room was not clean as well, and we found it rather odd and uncomfortable that none of the stall doors had locks on them. *Besides the Gaga pit, the rest of the playground equipment is very old and in rough shape. My husband remembers that stuff being there when he was a kid. Paint is chipping off, things are very squeaky, and just look very old and run down. *Mini golf was in rough shape and very badly needed the grass to be cut in there. *One staff member was vaping or smoking I couldn’t tell which it was outside of the office/store entrance every time we came up. There is a no smoking sign posted right there, so it definitely was not inviting and should have been done elsewhere, away from customers. *We tried to swim in the pond, but the overwhelming smell of dead fish made us head to the pool instead. *Website claims to have a snack bar and game room, but that room appears to have become a storage room, with no food offered and no video games plugged in. So all in all, while the trip had some good times, I do not feel we will be returning until some changes are made, which we hope will happen! The place has great potential!
The reviews I’ve read have not been flattering to this park. We booked a stay and I must say that I’m glad the place is nothing like the reviews I’ve read. They must have done a lot of updating since these reviews because the park is clean. You can see the updated playground as you drive in. The water is good and the pool looks inviting. I have a travel trailer so I don’t use the facilities but popped in to have look and it’s clean as well. I also looked at the laundry rooms and looks like updated washers and dryers. So I am estatic we found this place to stay while we are working.
The place is well maintained and the owners are putting a lot of work into the place. It is quiet and peaceful even during the holidays. I feel safe and secureService: 5/5
The campground itself is a nice setting it’s quiet and peaceful. The maintenance crew seem to be on duty every day doing some thing. The owner was nice. But the water smell an uneven pressure was horrible! There’s air in the water lines and spit and sputter you’d have to wait to get water up to 30 seconds. Sometimes when I would flush the toilet in the camper the water came in hot and steamy. I talked to the owner about the water thinking it was just my site that the pressure and smell was horrible but she said no they had a problem with her well and bladder system. Well they certainly do have a problem there. That sulfur rotten egg smell is both inside and outside your camper 90% of the time making it difficult to sit out and enjoy a campfire. And I If they fix that I would’ve stayed longer but I canceled my reservation and left early. The golf was ridiculous they shouldn’t even charge you to play it. If they would take care of that issue I would highly recommend going there
I stayed for a month and the place was wonderful the people were friendly it was quiet the owners were exceptionally kind I highly recommend this placeService: 5/5
Ended up staying there for about 2 weeks was great .left alone. people were friendly it was nice to have room to venture as well.Hotel highlightsKid-friendly
This place is gross. It has so much potential, but looks like nobody has put any money into for 40 years. We had no picnic table or room for one, as our site was only as wide as our camper. There was no fire ring and people live here. I don't know why the rules say 10 days. There are campers there that are so old and have definitely been there for years. It's basically a low rent trailer park for travel trailers. There is a pond for fishing and swimming but i would let my dog touch that water.
Barb is amazing. We currently store or motorhome with her and it looked great last time we went to see it. Great prices! First place we stayed after buying the rv! They do year round also!Rooms: 5/5
I have heard bad things about the owner not liking large families and being unfriendly but we decided to ignore that and make our own decision… TERRIBLE IDEA.. My family decided to take a quick trip close by to test out our new RV and re visit an old campground… the lady offered to stay till 8 to check us in, which we thought was helpful. But when we arrived we were told my husband was red flagged in the system and could not stay… there was no note or legitimate reason his name was blocked and she could not recall either even though she said it was last year.. it has been 3 years at least since he has been there and we have never been there together… he asked if he could put the site in his wife’s name me and she refused saying she was uncomfortable with that… a whole family loaded up expecting to stay and was denied at 8 pm.. the hospitality and genuine care for a good happy camping experience is not what you will get here. Lots of seasonals live here. NOT recommended at all… KOA 10 min down the road is much more accommodating and happy to help last minute campers! Very unsatisfied with this entire decision and experience.. I never write bad reviews but in my entire lifetime of camping I have never been denied a stay let alone at night with 5 kids with no legitimate reason. I can’t warn you enough, this is not your ideal family camping destination!
