We were greeted and seated rather quickly which was great. We arrived slightly after 4:30. Looking over the menu we noticed new items and they now serve alcohol. Food arrived piping hot and our server was very friendly. The gift shop was packed with great things that you didn't realize you needed Food: 5/5
The scrambled eggs came out cold and the pancakes were kinda of like rubber, but the service was kind and outstanding. When I go back I will order eggs over easy instead of scrambled to see if that makes for a fresher breakfast. I included pictures from items for sale in their general store.
Pancakes are soooo good. Love the salted whipped butter. They kept on filling up my cup only halfway each time which made me get a lot of refills which was a waste. They also forgot my bacon and eggs.
Solid dining choice. Service is a little slow probably due to staffing like everywhere else. Recommend the fried apples and the unlisted grilled sourdough is delish if you aren't a fan of biscuits or cornbread. Crazy busy on the weekends but not terrible during the week. The extensive store is full of great gifts and makes the wait go by much more quickly. Recently added alcohol too. Wheelchair accessibility: Abundant handicap parking
Micheala was our excellent server last evening, ensuring our family of six enjoyed a wonderful dinner. She was the epitome of friendly professionalism! The food was good, although we all noted that the size of the pancakes has diminished quite a bit from the last time we were there; Three of us ordered pancakes, and all were equally diminutive in comparison to prior visits. Thank you, Michaela, for taking such good care of us, and we hope to return soon!
We did dine in and took a box home, because the helpings are huge. The chicken and dumplings and the slow roasted beef are excellent. I've been eating there for years, but usually ordered breakfast. I've never had a bad meal, or poor service at any CB. They only hire nice people. Our waiter was great. Service is fast. My only complaint is the uncomfortable wooden chairs. No padding. Wish they had padded booths. I may start taking a small round pillow with me. I also bought a bag of candies and chocolates from their general store area. Good stuff. Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggies available. Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of old-timers go there. We did see a couple of wheelchairs.
On a cold night, after standing outside somewhere else, chicken & dumplings hit the spot! Our server was fantastic. She was friendly, and despite being new to Cracker Barrel, was experienced in the industry and very good. She got us answers about family holiday dinners very quickly and was cheerful, despite it being a busy Friday night. Despite the restaurant being packed, the service was prompt and friendly. The food was hot, plentiful and delicious. At one point, while we ate, at another table, a child knocked a glass off the table. IN LESS THAN TEN SECONDS, someone was there with a broom & dustpan to clear up the glass. This was followed seamlessly by a person with a mop. The action was nearly balletic. The entire staff should be commended. My only minor concern is about the online payment system. A customer paying online, leaving a tip and leaving does not look any different from a deadbeat who plays with their phone for a minute, gets up and walks out. Customers should be asked to scan their check upon exiting the dining room, so they can be routed to the cashier's stand, or left to roam the store.
My husband and I both got the same entree. When our meal arrived, we both had trouble cutting our meat and commented how tough it felt. When our server came around to ask us how our meal was, we said it tasted good, but.... She was the sweetest. She asked if we wanted a new meal. We both declined. Just wanted to let them know, maybe just a "tough batch" She asked if she could get the manager. We said it wasn't necessary Next thing we know, the manager is at our table, asking about our meal. He was over-the-top awesome about it all. He had a new entree prepared, explaining it could have been how long it sat/or cooked. Our "new meal" was served and was indeed better. Thank you, Centerville Cracker Barrel! You have a great manager and server.
Cracker Barrel is a favorite to many but is not someplace I want to visit. However, a friend and I visited and the food was excellent. I chose a grilled cheese sandwich and vegetable soup as it was a cold day. My friend had the vegetable platter. Our server was friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was good. We'll go back.Food: 5/5
Got is fast...but that was it. Eggs were very small and runny....i ordered over medium No napkins. Couldnt eat eggs. Waitress seemed only to want to give me coffee. Did t ask about meal. Once seated waited 10 minutes before anyone came. But......management knew and all i ate was pancakes. Meal was free. Hopefully corrections made.
