Providing Clinical Bodywork Therapies in CranioSacral and Asian Bodywork Integrating Hot Stone Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy, or CST, is a gentle, hands-on form of body therapy that evaluates and enhances the craniosacral system. This system consists of the fluids and membranes that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch, usually no heavier than the weight of a nickel, practitioners can release restrictions in the craniosacral system. This improves the function of the entire central nervous system.
The CST practitioner essentially helps the body release restrictions – which it has been unable to overcome on its own – that inhibit the body’s normal, self-correcting tendencies. Rather than deciding how these changes should be made, the therapist follows cues from the body on how to proceed. When the therapist follows this gentle approach, the method is extremely safe and effective.
Oftentimes, CST can quickly eliminate acute or chronic painful conditions that other modalities have failed to affect. In other cases, CST can be an effective adjunctive therapy to virtually any other modality that's currently being employed.
Zen Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese Massage technique derived from Chinese massage, in which direct, sustained pressure is applied to acupuncture points with gentle, conscious stretching, in order to relieve tension and pain, improve internal organ function, and induce a profound state of connected well-being. Add to this the use of heated, smooth, black basalt stones placed stationary or used for pressure technique over acupuncture points and energy channels -- and you will notice the hot stone transfers energy with weighted pressure that penetrates and spreads heat. This process supplements and regulates the body-mind for deep restoration of vital body energies. Leaving you relaxed and yet energized.
