Crivello’s Confections was inspired by Christine Crivello, pictured above. In addition to being a pilot-in-training for the WWII Woman Airforce Service Pilots, she was well known for her cheesecakes. Growing up on a farm in NJ, Christine learned to bake the “old world” style from her mother who immigrated to America in the early 1900s from Austria. Throughout her life, Christine continued to bake and cook, eventually owning a café in NJ. She is forever remembered, however, for her cheesecakes. Today, Christine’s spirit lives on in her grandson, Michael, a pilot in the Army and also a baker. The famed cheesecake recipe was passed down through the generations from Christine to Christine’s son and now finally to Michael. This recipe is the foundation for all of Michael’s cheesecake creations and the inspiration for Crivello’s Confections.
