Cullman Veterinary Hospital, P.C.

About

We are a veterinary practice that specializes in small animal care located in Cullman, Alabama.

Description

A little bit of our history-
Steven T. Murphree, D.V.M., purchased Cullman Veterinary Hospital in January 1985 from Dr. David Simpson. In the 1950s, Cullman Veterinary Hospital was both a large and small animal facility. In 1989, the decision was made to sell the large animal portion of the practice to an associate veterinarian. At that time, Cullman Veterinary Hospital became a 100% small animal treatment facility. In 1990, Dr. Dana Kessler joined the practice as an associate veterinarian. Her expertise and knowledge has proven to be a valuable asset to the practice. The hospital soon needed room for expansion and Cullman Veterinary Hospital moved into its new facility in August 2001. The new facility contains 2 surgery suites complete with video imaging, laser surgery and endoscopy. Four exam rooms, a conference room, an expanded laboratory, and added kennel space for housing cats and dogs compliment the new hospital. Dr. Tara Bonds became an associate in 2011. Her knowledge and caring attitude compliments our team in practicing high quality veterinary medicine.

I am new to the area and have a new pup. I went to this vet based on the reviews I read on google. They certainly live up to the hype. I found the staff very knowledgeable, thorough, and super friendly. I have been back for all of the follow up shots and even a neuter. All pleasant experiences well for me anyway, maybe not so much for Ozzy! and reasonable prices considering the thoroughness of the care. Thanks guys!!
I took my 3 week old baby kitten to them & they took him straight back & were great with him but unfortunately he didn't make it , but I would recommend them to anyone that needs a vet ! Also thank you all for the card it warmed our hearts to get those little feet print of our baby Simon absolutely love the staff also they are very friendly ! Thank you all for being such a great team
Always so nice, great customer service. My dog gets the best care.
Really enjoyed our first visit here, the waiting room is super kid friendly which I appreciated very much with two young kids. The nurses were kind, but the Dr. Was what made this visit special! He was very informative, answered all my questions, and I truly felt he listened to me! So happy we chose here for our little puppy!
Our sugar glider Charlie died because we were sent to the vet they recommended when they were to busy!!!! would never take anything I cared about back to them. Unless you wanted to die
Because I was black, they told me a couple at first then it’s going to be two hours for a rabies shot. Others walk in as a walk-In and went straight back to the vet.
Amazing vet and assistant's. My puppy was on the verge of dying. Now she is up and running and being a puppy.
I went and helped a friend with her Cat. First off my friend was the third owner of the car, and this is where the cat had always been brought, but there cats records had not been changed over to my friend so it took a minute to find the cats past records even though she has just purchased flea treatment two weeks prior. Second off... We had a 9:15 AM appointment, there was no-one in the lobby when we arrived, yet we were not called back until 9:48 AM. We lived .8 miles away point 8 miles away, not even a full mile. And it took us an hour and 38 minutes before arriving back at home. Third and something I have heard from many other folks... This place is HIGH AS A CATS BACK!! NO PUN INTENDED, VERY EXPANSIVE!! IT WAS $144 and if we would have went to East Point animal hospital it would have been about $60. I don't recommend this place at all!!
My first occasion to visit Cullman Veterinary Clinic was in the mid 90’s at their location on West Main just before Newman’s Cleaners with my awesome Great Dane, Greta. Dr. Kessler followed Greta her entire life. She offered to come to my home for her final visit. The care Greta received from Dr. Kessler as well as the rest of the staff was beyond reproach. Fast forward to the present and I was so glad to see Doc Williamson walk through the door both times our cats needed initial care. Again, due to the excellent care received, our cats continue with Cullman Veterinary Hospital. Kudos to all!
I took my dog here to get surgery done on his broken leg and they took him back then a couple hours later they called me telling me “It was worse than we thought and that it need amputated instead” I went ahead and told them that they could amputated it. Then I couple hours later they called me telling me “he went into cardiac arrest and they couldn’t save him” I had to still pay the vet bill even though they killed my baby when he just had a broken leg. They’re all about getting money then caring for other people.
