"For 40 years, Park West Church PWC has been a place of ministry and hope in the Knoxville area. Pastor Gerald E McGinnis founded the church in October, 1980. We began with 26 people who met for the first time in the music room of Cedar Bluff Intermediate School. Then in 1991, we made our home here on Middlebrook Pike.In 2018, Pastor Gerald passed Leadership to his son, Dr. Jeremy McGinnis. And PWC will continue to pursue God with a passion to reach the city of Knoxville and around the world. Our mission is to help people of all walks of life discover who they are in Christ.Come be a part of the community we are building, come just as you are and together we will reach our Christ centered destiny."

I really enjoy Park West Church, I grew up in a completely different denomination that is very reserved and kinda rigid...being at Park West where you can feel God's presence is a. Intense and beautiful experience. I appreciate how Pastor Jeremy preaches as well. He goes deep with it and preaches on God's grace more than hell fore and brimstone. Praise and worship is great too. I wish we could request music we wanted and I wish they had a recovery program too like Celebrate Recovery.
This is the only church on this planet, that makes members and non-members feel like family. A few years ago, the church secretary Missy and her husband came to visit my baby at East Tennessee Children's hospital. They have the best youth praise and worship service each week. My two son's and I always visit this amazing church during Easter Sunday
Good praise music but it overtook the worship and we did not get a sermon. Seemed unorganized with one guy in the band looking like he was stepping on the toes of the worship leader. They allow folks to dance at the front and it is very distracting. Perhaps let them dance in the back. In not sure emotion should overtake order. Preacher even said there should not be that emotion overtaking order. Some folks dancing folks up front seemed to be like Matthew 6:5 "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full." Sunday School was good. Kneeling at the altar to pray should be orderly as well and not turned in to dancing up front. We would like to go back but there needs to be order.
They host some helpful charities, and put on some nice events themselves. Unfortunately though if I didn't know God, speaking to some people on their staff or prayer team would scare some people away from God & church. I don't approve of what most of the people I've interacted with there say. NO "Person" should be telling another if they were saved they would choose not to sin. Prayer team members up front on a Sunday morning Should NOT Be Telling people they're going to Hell bc they choose to sin. I could have sworn the Bible says EVERYONE sins. It's been a few years since I went to PWC so hopefully those people are not in a leadership role there anymore, or at least figured out how they talk to people isn't very bright.
Best church in Knoxville in my opinion! Amazing youth programs! Great community groups. Everyone is exceptionally welcoming. Pastor Sam doesn't preach at us. He talks to us. Music is the perfect blend of old and new!
Do you remember the story about the Three Bears? Well this church is just right the leadership is amazing Pastor Jeremy and Pastor Gerald McGinnis are amazing spiritual leaders. And all the people make you feel welcome. It's a great place to praise and worship and to get filled with the Holy Spirit!
I've been going to this church for 8 months. The pastor there Pastor Jeremy is amazing the worship is amazing the message is it's just like it's right from God's mouth. And you can feel the church moving and God's Direction. I love this church so much the people make you feel so welcome.
Not generally a church goer. Your relationship with God is between you and him, not an overpaid and undertaxed institution. This is almost more like a nightclub than a church. The videos they played during service left my girlfriend and I very confused, while the pastor did nothing to clarify or reinforce what happened in them. Music was so loud, you may want to pop an ibuprofen before going. Stay far away if your an epileptic, the flashing lights and lazer show were a bit much, and even hurt my eyes. Meanwhile you're surrounded by a billion other people. Don't even get me started on the "giving kiosks." Don't worry, if you want to pay into the owners Ferrari fund, they accept Amex and Discovery. A church that has almost 30 million in assets shouldn't exist anywhere.
If anyone read my previous review, I apologize for the errors. I wrote it late at night and was exhausted from the sound of drums from Park West church. Myself and my neighbors next store to the church have been alerting Parkwest church for years that the drums during their services are very loud, go on for hours and make it hard for us to enjoy our homes. Imagine a steady drum beat in your home for hours after a day of work. This occurs two nights a week from Parkwest church next to our condo neighborhood. Phone calls and letters to the pastors have been ignored. The youth pastor did leave me a very nice message and the Wed eve service seems to be decreasing their noise a bit earlier. Please be aware, we are glad you have a successful church and we are Christians of various denominations in our neighborhood. We are happy for your success. But as the Christian faith dictates, you should love your neighbors. Ignoring repeated calls regarding the distress we are experiencing from loud music mostly unrelenting drums does not seem compassionate at all. At one point the drums continued until 10 pm on Thursdays- that has improved a bit. However, it causes us distress, headaches, inability to relax and enjoy a book or TV program when those drums are beating. We do not ask you to stop glorifying the Lord by music. However, lowering the volume, installing better soundproofing , etc could reduce or eliminate the problem. We are not being over- reactive. I have even invited someone from the church to visit our homes during a service so they can hear what we hear in our homes. We continue to be ignored. Some of our residents. have considered having to sell the homes they love due to this intrusions. That is truly sad. Parkwest, Church Please , please show real Christian compassion to your neighbors and fix this problem. We do not deserve to have our homes invaded in this way. All we want is peace.
I personally have never gone to a service but I’ve fallen hard before and needed help putting food on my table. The prayers you all said before I “shopped” really struck a cord with me. I am doing a lot better and it feels great to know that I could go somewhere that wasn’t embarrassing or looked down on me for not going to church. I think it’s this church, I know there is west park but I’m positive it’s this one.
