This campground was a hidden gem that my partner and I were so lucky to find! The owners were the most kind people and treated us like we were family! The view camping right beside the ocean is breath taking and watching the tides change and being able to walk out on the red sand ocean floor. Upon arrival the owners gave us 2 sea dollars, a gift painted shell with the campsite name on it that we were able to choose from and they had us stick a peg where we were from in their map in the office! The bathrooms were clean, location was perfect and they even had coffee brewed for us to have the next morning! They were very accommodating with any of our needs and willing to help out in any way then can!
Good place for digging clams. The Campground is peaceful. I love the sound of the waves at night time. It gets windy at night. Firewood is cheap. I like the butterflies in the morning. Washroom and showers need updating. Safety: Safe Food & drinks: Free freshly brewed coffee in the morning
True review: Best hidden gem in PEI! Absolutely spectacular location only open July and August keeping the grass thick and green, the tidal sands are full of clams for a fun dig at low tide, there are also lots of hermit crabs, shrimp, starfish and other critters to observe! Site 15 is nicely tucked away if you want to tent with some privacy. There is complementary coffee at 8:30am in the office where you can have a chat with the owners Doug and Micheline who have been operating this humble campground for 21 years! The closest grocery store is Gertties which even has a Butcher. There are some good water-shoes provided, if you're a men's size 10-12 I suggest picking up a pair of your own. Only downside to this camp is the bathroom. It's clearly seen better days, so if you're a bit of a yuppie, this may not be the stay for you. Going in wearing sandals or crocs you should have no issues. Noteworthy details: True Island experience!
Beautiful and quiet campground in front of the ocean, the owners Micheline and Doug are very helpful and very friendly. I recommend this campsite because the fees are affordable, and the accommodations are clean. We will definitively come back next year if we are in Prince Edward Island.
I absolutely loved staying here, this was one of my favourite place so far in my maritime roadtrip. I was lucky enough to have a spot right on the shore, what a beautiful view. This is a small modest camping with great service and amazing hospitality from Douglas & Micheline. They made my stay so much better than I expected! They can provide equipment to go clam digging and a clam digging 101 lesson. The installations are old and a little rustic but still decent. I would rather stay here over any other large campgrounds with modern facilities. You are right on the beach and can enjoy swimming at high tide, walking and clam digging at low tide. Michel & Doug are very friendly and welcoming and love dogs :. Wi-Fi is meh but it's free!. Sites right on the shore have low intimacy but they are quite large so you're not glued to your neighbour and do have some intimacy when parked parallèle to the shore. Definitely recommend! Know that facilities are old but this location is everything.
Most amazing camp ground with a picture perfect view and the nicest owners I've ever met! They helped set up power and had coffee ready for us in the morning. 10/10Rooms: 5/5
This was a magical stop for a newly retired guy from the Rockies. Planned on a week, stayed for over 3! Thank you so much Douglas and Micheline Service: 5/5
Such a beautiful location right on the coastline. The nicest hosts in the world. Nineteen years of ownership and they are still positive and happy, which says a lot about them and the type of camper they attract. Clean well cared for campground. The host gave us freshly caught fish! Fresh coffee in the morning, famous the world over.
Absolutely loved this location. Spectacular view right on ocean. Low tide made it amazing to walk out. Owners were great and whatever you needed they came through even every morning free coffee better than Timmy's. Very clean, will definitely go back and stay a lot longer even thinking for a month
Beautiful setting, very sereneThe owner/operators are absolutely wonderful! Extremely accommodating. They even ran an extension cord to our tent at no extra charge! Highly recommend & we will definitely be back
