The pharmacy staff is rude. They also never answer the phones, ever. They switch prescriptions from your insurance to their “discount card” automatically without informing you! The cost of the Rx is not always less. Then, if you want to switch it back to your own insurance you’ll have to wait in the long consultation line. Ridiculous! Switch your scripts to another pharmacy.
Worst pharmacy I’ve EVER been to. They operate by their own set of rules. One of my prescriptions is always a 28 day script and CVS knows that, yet every time I tried to fill when I was technically due they would refuse saying I needed to wait a full 30 days! Also there is no observation of the hippa laws in this pharmacy. The women behind the counter gossip about patients and freely share patients information with each other and their friends. As it is I rarely use this pharmacy and this month will be my LAST using CVS for anything
The pharmacy staff has generally been nice to deal with. Yes, the lines can be long certain times of the day, which can be a pain for customers but is probably taxing on the employees as well.
Convenient location, though at the time of review, there were considerable shortages and whole shelves unstocked. There are two self check-out terminals, though both require manned assistance to check out a home test kit for the 'Rona, which kind of defeats the purpose. The line for the pharmacy was also longish, though several customers said that they had placed their orders far in advance. Immediately outside the CVS is a bicycle rack provided by Congress Plaza.
When I went yesterday with a question for the pharmacist she wouldn’t even come out and answer them. She relayed her answers through the tech. I felt that was very unprofessional.
Great location. Open 24 hours. They carry a host of useful items for every day and seasonal needs. Especially helpful when your baby spikes a fever in middle of the night and you forgot to bring along Tylenol to the hotel.
The line to pick up a prescription is simply too long. I was told my prescription would be ready for pick-up at 6:00pm. Waited on a really long line, got up to the counter, and was told it's not ready yet. Not the first time this has happened. Then they tell you they can expedite it while you stand there and wait another 15 minutes with a group of disgruntled customers. Now I know why mail order prescriptions is the way to go.
The store is very crowded...narrow isles. Pharmacy more than very busy...alway a backed up line to pick up prescriptions I wanted in a line of 12 + people, got to the third person when they announced that the pharmacy was closing at 1:30 - 2:00.... no exceptions! When I inquired as to why....."lunch" I asked why half of the pharmacy staff doesn't go to lunch 1:00 to 1:30 and the other half from 1:30 to 2:00. She shrugged her shoulders and lowered the screen. Poor management in my estimation.
This place is a joke and no it’s not because they are short staffed or have too many customers. I can go up and down on this place from the lines, to the 4 hours to fill an antibiotic which was told 20 mins. This isn’t a one time issue it’s constantly and as I type this I’m standing here talking with three other customers who have the same issues. I will no longer use this pharmacy just like so many other people who have reviewed it and said the same. CVS CONGRESS ST is by far the worst CVS pharmacy in the northeast. No contest.
They are always busy, by no fault of their own. But, I'm an adult and understand that if there's 6 employees waiting on 30 people I may have to wait my turn. They always give me an accurate time frame on my wait and are staffed by really pleasant people, even though there's always someone yelling at an employee about something wildly out of their paygrade, they're still all smiles when I walk up next. Though some Karen just verbally abused them because they have no way of keeping things that are unavailable from the maker in stock, they are still very helpful and kind. The only thing that drives me crazy is the wait time on the phone, and sometimes they don't answer, but again, 6 people for 75 customers and 902 phone calls will do that.
