First visit was great. In and out in a reasonable time! Appearance of school could be better, but overall great! I will be visiting again. UPDATE: This used to be my go to place, because it worked so well with my schedule. I could go in after work or a Saturday morning. Since, the school does not open on Saturday, but I was still able to go in after work. However, I have gone twice recently and have not been able to be serviced because there were not enough students to perform services. I don’t know if the student enrollment is decreasing, or if students enrolled are not showing up to class.
-0000..... Mr.D was very incompetent & unprofessional especially in hair coloring......I am a senior citizen & selected a beautiful Auburn brown I ended up w/red yes bright red hair.... instead of being honest & expressing to me that coloring wasn't his expertise & admitting that he was out of the color I selected, but he doesn't care at all .....horrible customer service at the front desk from the short lady who is his helper can't think of her name b/c it has been over a year!!! I know many who r knowledgeable in hair coloring/conditioning & definitely will not be returning. I had 2 wear a wig 4 a year....the experience was a nightmare.....I had success though, w/finding experienced students to satisfactorily give me a shampoo/press/curl.Believe me if you let Mr. D. color your hair u will definitely regret it !! & have pictures as proof !!
The OWNER, Mr D, is the WORST. I went 3 times & each time he was rude. During my 1st visit I had questions & he seemed offended that I would ask about the products he uses. The second time he told the student she was spending too much time on my shampoo. The 3rd time I wanted a simple shampoo/blow dry to get braids. I didn't get any service because he said they take the last client at 8:00 by the clock on his wall it was 7:45. Thumbs down for Mr. D.
I seen the owner call the police on some girl for a misunderstanding from what I heard from there conversation. This is not good business to try and get someone in trouble because you didn't understand over some little money. Its a school how much could it possible cost. My service was 15 bucks. So if your calling the police over that little money your full of greed and yourself. And if it is that serious to do someone like that nobody should do business with you. And by the way his hair looked like he was on drugs so after seeing him who would come back. Terrible business to call the police on someone like that. If my hair was not almost done I would have left. I dont like stuff like that.
If there was something lower than a one star, then I would rate my experience as being less than a one star. The owner is rude and does not care about people. I came here for a shampoo and blow dry. When the student finished shampooing my hair she noticed that dandruff was still present on my scalp and wanted to shampoo it again, but the owner told her not too. He told me to proceed with getting it blow dryed with the dandruff on my scalp. Why would I do that? I left the place with my hair still wet.
I am in the process of looking for a school to attend to become a nail technician. When I was doing my search, I came across this school and it was ideal mainly because of location. I went and checked it out and although the look of the school is not pleasing, I decided to give it a shot. I filled out the contact information online and received no response. I called four times, left one detailed message, and still no response. I decided to call again and was greeted very rudely and nonchalantly by the receptionist. When I explained to her what I was calling for and how many times I tried to get some information, her response was "well what is it that you want to know?" At that point, even if I had decided to attend, she changed my mind. She did not even acknowledge the concerns I expressed to her about the lack of communication. I have definitely crossed this school off my list of searches. I actually give it no stars, but you can't post a review without one.
As a former student just graduated I should sue Douglas for defamation of character for spreading lies about me to other students. saying I filed false reports and brought inspectors to the school which I did not he also claimed that the inspectors showed him a report with my name on it claiming I said things which I did not say. Which is impossible because legally inspectors can’t do that so he lied about that to. A majority of the students have a problem with him which is why they barely show up to school. Also I was there more than he was during my time there and it’s his school. He talks about inappropriate topics with students such as men “tucking”, his days at the night club he owned when he told a women she was to fat to stand on his tables and she tried to kill him for it, and women toiletries etc and likes to play victim. other students will vouch for these inappropriate conversations I wasn’t taught anything valuable during my stay, all you do is flat irons and roller sets and he tells you if you want to practice or learn something you have to convince the clients to get the service you want to learn. I had a numerous amount of “teachers” and they all taught differently and were either fired or left willingly. Proceed at your own risk.
I've been going here for YEARS and love it. The instructor, Mr. D., is very knowledgeable and consults with me when I'm considering trying something new. PS Beauty School offers a large variety of services. The students go a great job every time.
I have been a customer here for years. The trainers are not as skilled as they should be and they are short staffed. With only One teacher to watch over all the students, the trainers must wait 'if' they have a question. Students are poorly supervised and insufficient staff is why it deserves one star, use at your own risk.
Never go during evening. They only have one or two stylist who's been "trained" to wash hair. Everyone else is there to practice on manicans...not you. Not even a basic wash
