I’ve gone several times. On a weekend I went around 7 am and it was plenty of parking and it was free. Buying the card was a little confusing. The machine doesn’t accept debit cards apparently so make sure you have a credit card to buy it with. In case you were wondering how much money to put on a card they do ask that you swipe your card going into the train station but apparently it does not charge you until you leave the train station when you swipe it again. It sounds confusing you are swiping your card twice but it only charges you for when you leave a station. I’ve also gone on a week day around 7am and still plenty of parking. I would say just after 8 there was a few spots left so come early. I paid for my parking on the Bart app it’s much easier.
It could use a new coat of paint. As it is, it feels like no one cares about it and it lends to a depressive feeling and promotes sadness, disrespect and despair. While the place is just a huge slab of concrete, it seems that it has the potential to lift people's spirits if it was properly maintained and had paintings/murals that promoted happy feelings. Maybe some artists out there could do something with this blank canvas and maybe the 5-0s should let them.
This station was so dirty
This was the BART I took daily when I was going to SFSU. It is one of the busy stations since people are getting off for school. There are tons of buses, so look for yours. Sometimes is frustration waiting for the right bus when they change their signage. For SFSU students, we always had a shuttle, and there is always a freaking line! ----------------- Parking here sucks. Too many people park here. Bathrooms weren't always the cleanest. Unlike the other stations nearby, this is on an elevated platform.
Daly City BART Station BikeLink Transit Transportation Service
Good station. Feels pretty safe as there were two transit police vehicles parked outside. There's a big parking lot/building next door to the station and the street between the station and the parking lot building is a great place for pickup/dropoff by car/taxi.
Sometimes the large passing access is not working and agent is not here. And there's ONLY one large passing access. Could they send any one fix the machine? Or build another new large passing access? Very inconvenient!! Most of time, you would found pee inside of the elevator. So disgusting! You can really see the thing! ewwww! No body takes care of it.
There are a few pros, but they are outweighed by the cons. You can also connect to SamTrans from here. PROS: There is a shopping center across the street. This is an older terminating BART station, so you have three tracks and a lot of connecting trains. MUNI 28 a few steps from the payment gates takes you to the Golden Gate Bridge for the price of fare. MUNI 28 Takes you directly to SFSU, Stonestown Galleria, and you can connect to West Portal. CONS: To walk to the shopping center across the street you have to go underground. This doesn't feel safe as it's somewhat isolated and it usually wreaks of urine. There's confusion as to where to go for different buses. They have changed the pickup location several times for several bus lines. The pigeons love this station. Look up! I've seen homeless people take up the benches that patrons use to sit on to wait for a bus.
Confusing at first. So posted some photos of the route I walked back to Parkmerced. Wheelchair accessible the entire route. Needs better FREE WiFi coverage.
Although Daly City Station is closer to my home, I rarely park or take Bart here and the following are the reasons why: PROS: - Location is close to Westlake Shopping Center by foot: 25 min, by car: 7 min - Lines served: Pittsburgh/Bay Point to/from SFIA/Millbrae, Richmond to/from Daly City/Millbrae, Dublin/Pleasanton to/from Daly City, and Daly City to/from Warm Springs - Monthly Reserved Permit, Single Day Reserved, Extended Weekend, and Carpool parking options - Big parking garage $3 daily parking fee - Fairly easy to hail a taxi - Tunnel that leads to restaurants along Junipero Serra Blvd: Kome Buffet, Round Table Pizza, Subway, Westlake Coffee Shop, Coldstone Creamery, Tomo Sushi and Century 20 Theater - SamTrans and Muni stop CONS: - Congestion. Congestion. Congestion. - Restrooms are incredibly filthy - Elevators rarely work - Entrances to the station smell like urine - Parking garage fills up by 8am on weekdays 3 levels
