Dan River Adventures

Never been tubing and had no idea of what to expect. I read some reviews and was a little concerned about how it would all pan out. It was an EXCELLENT day. The staff are happy and fun. I recommend blue or purple tubes and definitely a cooler raft. Bring snacks, water shoes, and water/alcohol. Waterproof speaker is another great thing to bring. It was so worth it! No issues. No negativity. Great time! Don't let old reviews discourage you.

Always fun. Have done this section of river many times over the last 12 years! Well worth time and money.

We tubed on Friday, June 10, 2022, 12:30 slot. The staff here is very friendly, very accommodating. They offer a beautiful picnic area that we used before we tubed—- it’s a 3-3:20 minute float so be sure to eat before you launch! They have snacks available for purchase if you forget. We had a party of 15 and had an absolute blast.

This was our first time tubing through this company. Property was beautiful , we were well informed on safety and dos and don’t of tubing, if you will . The ride itself was smooth, as we have gone tubing before. My only issue is that we made a reservation for a certain type of float and we didn’t get it . We were dismissed by the older gentleman even after showing a verification email . It came off as rude and maybe that’s how he talks , but it just rubbed us in the wrong way . I was offered a later time, to get the correct tube . Which was inconvenient and made the process of a reservation seem pointless . As we both work in the bar industry , mistakes happen understandably , we brushed it off and took the floats that were left and continued making the most of our day . What saved a bad start to the adventure is the guy with the cowboy hat , who had given us safety tips earlier , had a positive attitude and helped make a situation better with his humor, compassion , and acknowledgment while helping us into the river . Which was nice and appreciated. Only reason company didn’t get 5 stars.

If I could give six stars I would! This place is awesome! it was our first time going tubing as a family, and the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and safety conscious. They made us aware of everything we needed to know before we got out on the river. They offered life jackets and made our family feel safe about our first tubing adventure. The prices are reasonable, and everything you need to know is posted on their website. We definitely will be back again, and we highly recommend this for a nice family adventure.

We had our first trip to this river tubing place. The site quick to explain the river and instructions.Then get us to the river. Tubs with webbing were very comfortable. Tubing this time was not a relaxed restful trip. As I needed.The river was very slow and I kept being pulled to the shore .And there is many downed trees and branches downed and sticking out in water. When I would get pulled to the shore these limbs and trees would get me stalled.And tring to get out of being tangled up and back to floating was a pain. This kept happening and getting very tiring. And we were looking forward to a peaceful relaxing float. But that wasn't to happen. Because there was a group of adults and a group of teenagers tied together and talking,laughing and screaming. The whole 4 hours of tubing. The parents should have had the teens quiet down. So there was no quiet peaceful float that day. People are so rude. This tubing place float time is 4 hours which was to long. With the river being so slow and visiting the bank so often. We were tired and ready to get off after two hours. But we had 2 more hours to float. But the weather was perfect. It would be more convenient if there were more changing rooms instead of two that they have. And real shower house and restrooms instead of Johnny Quicks. It was nice being out and doing a activity.

We had a group of 20 people that went. We had no issues at all with parking and transportation. They went over some brief instructions on what to watch out for and also the signs to be on the lookout for to know when to exit the river. Tubs were in good shape and we had no issues with them. We wanted to get some of the cooler tubes but due to the amount of debris in the water, they weren't available. As promised, they were waiting at the exit for us and we were quickly brought back to our vehicles. We would do this again!

A lot of fun when you go with a group of friends. The staff was very kind and helpful. It's ran by a small number of people so if the phone is busy call back later. The trip took us about 3 and a half hours, which flew by. There was a couple of times you have to avoid rocks or big logs and other obstacles, which was part of the fun in my opinion. A few sets of rapids, one in particular towards the end was pretty great! Nothing big and scary though so kids of any age should be fine going down them. Wearing some kind of water shoes or old shoes is a good idea so you can walk in the river without worry. I stood up in the river a few times to check the depth and in the spots I checked it only got deeper than 4 feet in a few spots. This of course is dependent on recent rainfall but typically it was a foot to 3 feet deep throughout the trip. If you've never been tubing give it a shot! It's way better than a man made lazy river, that's for sure.

Me and some friends tried booking a large group outing for my buddies birthday. We decided to try through this company as they were recommended by mutual friends. I would like to make it known we didn’t get any service from this company. So technically this review is a warning for people looking to book here as well. Our experience is that they told us we needed to pay in advance. No problem. We tried calling the owners back to ask a few questions before committing and we left a message. No call back, tried again. No call back. So now here it is a week and a half out from his birthday and we have to change all of the plans and cancel babysitters and dog boarding plans because the owners can’t pick up a phone. I’ll be happy to change the review if my phone rings.

We had a blast, no major issues. Perfect mix of relaxation and fun. Would have given 5 stars but it really is hard to get a hold of this place on the phone. The morning of our booked adventure, I had a very quick, simple question. Called probably 5x on the hour ride there and no answer. Despite that, though, we will book with them again in the future.
