The Charles Dana Danforth Gallery, which displays numerous art exhibits throughout the year, is located in Jewett Hall on the UMA-Augusta Campus.
The Charles Danforth Gallery’s mission is to function as a living classroom and to serve as the primary space for exhibiting contemporary art at the University of Maine at Augusta, as well as the central Maine community at large. Art does not provide us with answers, rather it is meant to elicit responses. Many contemporary artists are as concerned with the conversations that happen in response to their work as they are with the objects that they make.
