COVID emergency declared over by congress, signed by president, yet, you cannot walk into the lobby without a mask. This is illegal, this is harassment, and they should be sued for mental anguish and harassment by ALL veterans that visit this unprofessional clinic. Meanwhile, not ONE of the staff has a mask on. Disgusting.
Moved to state of the art facility. But website still shows old address and photos are all of the old building. Nothing new. If you're proud show it. Looks like same old same old.
It's good to have a local branch of the VA for veterans. However, the staff here are very rude to veterans. They treat us like we are a nuisance for them. Vets be aware!! Its really disgusting to serve your country and then they want you to serve them. They say thank you for your service, but do they really mean it?
NOTICE!!! The clinic has moved to the Danville Mall. The VA didn't bother to inform patients of this, but it is no longer on Piney Forest Road. This clinic was infamous for setting appointments then cancelling them a few days beforehand, but they have gotten better. Most if not all of the "doctors" are nurse practitioners. Some don't seem to know a whole lot. One x-rayed me for nerve damage. Don't even get me started on the lab techs blowing out veins when drawing blood. Medical care there is an assembly line process. The staff only has 30 minutes per patient. Only basic care is offered here. To see most specialists, they send you to Salem a 2.5 hour drive for me or refer you to community care. Community care can take up to 3 months to schedule an appointment with a specialist in your area. At least this clinic has mental health people, but they seem to mainly want to medicate you and send you out the door. No one listens to the patient there. I wish they had more specialists at this clinic.
We just moved to Virginia, so my husband went to the Danville clinic to register. He had already done this online, but he was running out of meds. The woman at the front desk told him three times, very blatantly, that he wasn't in her system and "I can do absolutely nothing to help you." She said this each time he asked a question. When he finally told her he was going to see a person at the Danville Benefits Office as well, she brightened up considerably and gave him a card with the address on it. I'm guessing this woman is not a vet, and has no idea what veterans go through. That's why I champion having only veterans to work at these offices. To be so unhelpful to someone in need is unprofessional, and rude. He did get registered at the Benefits Office, but came home very stressed and had to lay down. Seeing the reviews on here, I'm seeing that the Danville clinic is well below standards. We are going to do everything in our power to avoid this office. Veterans deserve better and that woman deserves the boot.
The V.A. Clinic in Danville, VA has some very good people there. Tierra Kelly is exceptionally gifted in getting the Veteran the care that is needed. She sees the whole picture of someone health-care and also makes the specialists appointments while her patient is still in her exam room. They Do need a new telephone system.
Probably my best appointment I've had in years. Great staff, thank you.
The care is not bad once you get seen. The problem is getting an appointment soon. It’s hard to speak with someone over the phone in the office in Danville, VA.
Anytime you call it’s an average 45 minute wait on hold to talk to someone. These are not VA employees btw- they are contractors AND IT SHOWS
First experience w/ VA. I was helped each step of the way from chech-in to chech-out. The entire process was pleasant; professional; friendly and courteous. Well done!
