I really love the tower room. It is a great place to get work done. On Sundays, it opens 12 noon and stays open till 1 am. I usually hang out a there a lot on Sundays, and grab a bite/coffee from the Novack Cafe downstairs. The Cafe is located inside the library and is pretty busy - sometimes the drink wait times can go up to 20-25 m. Photos attached: tower room work desk and the grand ceiling
What a great place! It's so big, with every resource you can imagine. Very fitting for an Ivy League school. It's really huge & lots of fun to "investigate" -- walk around & look at the INCREDIBLE works of art. It feels like a museum, a library, and a historical institution all rolled into one.
It is a nice college library that surrounds the old with the new. The old library building completely enclosed in the new is something worth seeing on its own. Of course there are many other attractions in the old halls of the library as well as a welcoming and always buzzing King Arthur Cafe right on the premises.
I don't even go here... BUT Baker Berry is great. I have spent my fair share of hours in the various parts of this huge library, full of inspirational nooks and tidy crannies, open spaces for people watching and quiet reading. With a King Arthur coffee shop, this place has it all. Definitely worth a visit if on a tour or looking for a place to get some work done. :
If you are an art connoisseur, you must make a stop at the Baker Library's basement to see the mural The Epic of American Civilization by Mexican artist Jose Clemente Orozco. I am also inspired to see hardworking students at the library. They are the future leaders of the world.
We only went downstairs to see the mural, it's absolutely stunning! And make sure to find the test panel, a literal hidden gem!
Beautiful library with a great selection of books.
There is a whole floor of Chinese books in Baker. Chinese students should check it out
Great place, the staff is excellent. Books and tomes everywhere. One of the best libraries I have been to.
