Beautiful ambience, service was amazing Sebastian and beef was the best we’ve had in quite some time. We topped it off with coffee and desserts. It’s not too often we have a getaway to Water’s Edge but when we do dinner at Dattilo’s is always part of the experience.
The food was delicious, the view was amazing but the service was slow. That night, they weren’t packed but it took them long time to get our orders and serve our food. A friend recommended this place and told us that they had a great dining experience in spite the price. They were a lil pricey since it’s a fine dining restaurant so, I guess I expected too much from them and got disappointed with the service.
I came here for dinner while staying in the hotel with my fiance for our second annual visit. We made a reservation for Datillo and showed up for our 5:30pm seating. We were seated in in the seaside bar and grill section and not the Datullo section, which we understood given Covid probably made it hard to have servers in both areas. We wished we had the view bit again understood given the circumstances. Our waitress Linda was great and checked on us frequently and was friendly. We ordered steamed mussels for an appetizer and then the veal and steak. The mussels were good and you got a decent amount for the price. The main entrees were a bit smaller so glad we got the appetizer before hand. The steak was a bit overcooked, well done rather than medium, but still tasty. For the price I'd expect it to be correct, but the seasoning and flavor was very good. Overall a nice visit, I'd recommend.
What an average experience. I will always pay a lot of money for good food but this was extremely overpriced, bland and uninspired. The portions were extremely small and for 38 dollar for pasta and fish I expect more than 5 bites of pasta. You can’t call yourself an Italian restaurant when your customers leave hungry. You also can’t call yourself an Italian restaurant if you don’t have espresso…
Dinner was out of this world! The food was amazingly delicious. The dessert was just as good. Our compliments to the chef! But the icing on the cake was our waiter. Big “shout out” to Sebastian! He was so friendly and super hospitable and made our visit so much more enjoyable! Thank you!
We ate at the restaurant for Father's Day. We had a good time. The food was good. The service was probably a D. It was a sunny day. We ate outside and ate from the buffet. The waitress did not ask or replenish the water. She was constantly at the other table next to us. The food was probably a B. Some of it was cold. The pasta could've been better. I think because the sauce was put together separate from the sauce it might be the reason why. I would've thought that with covid and having a buffet that they would've had hand sanitizer readily available. Going from the outside to the inside and touching the door handle and utensils at the bar we needed more hand sanitizer. The scenery was great. We sat outside with views of the ocean with a nice breeze from the ocean.
The views are amazing. There was no wait for the restaurant either which was nice. The food was subpar. I would recommend the calamari, it was good just a little salty. My fiancé ordered med rare steak frites pomme frites and it came med well with no seasoning and with overdone onion rings. I ordered the salmon BLT. The salmon patty was half the size of the bun and the mayo made the bun very soggy. I think our food sat under lamps for awhile as well. Our waitress my have been new, she didn't know the menu very well and was not very attentive. Prices were not worth it in my opinion.
We stayed at the Water’s Edge over the weekend and almost did not go the the on site restaurant due to the recent reviews. I am so glad we did not go by the reviews. Our experience at Dattilo was amazing! The waitstaff was very quick and attentive. We did not experience anything close to what others did in terms of service. Our meals came out very quickly and were delicious. I asked to switch my assigned side to the leek risotto, which I highly recommend you do as well. It was so good. I would recommend this place. Don’t go by reviews only to make your choice. *there were no weddings going on at Water’s Edge, so I don’t know if that had any affect on our experience. Also we went for dinner and Brunch. The review is for dinner.
Service was great, had great weather so we sat outside. They had a great band but a bit loud for dinner time. Most everyone's meal was great along with apps, however i had the veal and it was not good at all. Between four of us we spent over 600$,granted we had some nice wines but just a bit disappointed in the food
Had dinner at this restaurant during a weekend's stay at Water's edge resort. The salads and desserts were delicious. Had a beautiful view of the ocean. Could have had a couple more options for vegetarians as there was only one main course in the whole menu that was vegetarian. The pasta was terrible and dry with zero sauce and no cheese, the night we had dinner. Service was quick. It was located in an open room in the hotel lobby so the loud noise from the nearby bistro was very disturbing. Overall experience was mediocre and not very memorable.
