Growing up in the Memphis area, The Bluff City is home. It is the relationship with this city that has impacted my work in such an iconic way. Teaching since 2001, I strive to create and learn something new. It is only appropriate for the city founded on the river and built on cotton to be captured by water on cotton fibers, showing the rich textures through bold colors. Capturing Memphis’ architectural and cultural landscape with vibrant colors reflects both the city’s rich history and the artist’s disposition. For those who call Memphis home, it’s a great reminder of all the things good in the home of the Blues.
