De Jred Fine Jamaican Cuisine

The owner was really cool. I appreciate the fact that all food is made to order because it’s good to know it hasn’t just been sitting for who knows how long. With that comes a small wait which I didn’t mind. We got the Jerk Chicken plate and the veggie plate which he made especially for me since there isn’t a veggie plate on the menu. 10 out of 10.

Delicious, left no more than 5minutes ago and had to set a great review as soon as I could. Stew chicken was fall off the bone delicious. Everyone there was extremely friendly and sociable. The only bad part about the experience was we had to leave so I couldn't get a full slice of their potato pudding. I'm hooked

Come for the smiles, the laughs, and a little taste of Jamaica. I’ve rarely visited a restaurant where not only was every entree good, but also every component of that entree was delicious - De-Jred happens to just such a restaurant. From the lady serving us with a smile, to the beautiful lady sitting at the counter and bringing us our food, to the vibrant gentleman cooking in the back - everyone wore a smile, and had a great attitude. The food was phenomenal and cooked to perfection. I hate cabbage, and I polished it off my plate before I even touched the other things on my plate! The variety of Caribbean sodas being offered, transported me right back to the beautiful beaches of Jamaica. We finished our meal with a dessert of coconut drops and sweet potato pudding - both were good but that sweet potato pudding deserves a special mention because it was truly scrumptious. Also, for those to whom this matters, they serve Halal meat see my pics. All in all, I don’t care how far this is from me, I’m going to be coming here over and over and over and over and over again!!! Highly highly highly recommend!!!

The most hospitable genuine service. Jred took great care and went way above and beyond to ensure we were totally satisfied. I'm from S FL where Jamaican restaurants are a dime a dozen and non can compare to the calibre of meal prepared by Delroy. Breakfast was prepared from scratch in less than 30 mins and we all ate every single drop We sampled his organic natural juices and they are the real thing. The family who runs the business get your feeling like you're home and you leave completely filled and satisfied. If you're in the North Chicago area check out DeJred in Skokie. You won't regret it So happy the other place we search for was closed. It was worth the 30 mins drive for dinner, breakfast and dinner. Can't wait to return.

There is a vegetarian option of Ital stew that comes with plantains plus peas & rice. This entrée is very flavorful! Delicious!Food: 4/5

I want start by talking about the excellent customer service we were given at this restaurant. The staff working at De-Jred are the most welcoming, friendliest people I ever encounter at any restaurant. The older lady that was helping us was very friendly, warm-hearted and super helpful. Since it was our first time trying Jamaican food, she explained the different items off the menu and made recommendations. I had Ackee & Saltfish which is Jamaica's national dish. I really liked that dish especially the plantains. You guys rock. Love your restaurant.

Delicious, freshly prepared meals to order. I called ahead to order the cowfoot, which requires 30 minutes lead time. It was absolutely worth the wait! The portions are very generous and perfectly seasoned.
