Description

HAUNTED HOUSE

"D.E.A.D Rising Haunted House is an old school haunted house. We are a local business. We design and build our sets and props in house, for a uniquely terrifying experience. We put customers through in groups of no more than 6. This way we can take the time and scare everybody. It is interactive too, so you can't just close your eyes and plow through, while hiding behind 20 other people, like at many haunts. Once you go inside the haunt, you will not need to get in additional lines inside. We are located at 13624 S Cicero, in Crestwood Illinois. Enter the driveway between Sprint and McDonalds. We're on the southwest corner of the building. Parking is free."

Best haunted house I've ever been to!!! The owner is awesome and obviously loves what he does. They take great care with their scares!
The people there are nice but the Haunted house isn’t scary at all and it’s very quick about 5-7 minutes. Response : I was there this Wednesday. I gave a 2 rating because it isn’t scary, there were some moments that shocked me but that’s it. In regards to the time, the haunted house is not longer than 5-7 minutes, I timed it. Also, I didn’t run through the haunted house I walked and actually took a wrong turn and had to be redirected and still was very short.
This haunted house is nice and very well put together but it's very short. I prefer a longer haunted houses that are at least 30 minutes to an hour. However this was very well done. A leaves you wanting more however it was definitely worth doing.
This was the worst experience ever... I got in line at 8:51 and at 11:10 and I still hadn’t gotten to the front of the line. Then there’s this “V.I.P” pass that allows you to skip the line but when I bought my ticket it wasn’t even mentioned. Not to mention, I was racially profiled by one of the staff. I don’t care how good the haunted house may be.. the wait is not worth it. Social distancing was not enforced and some people didn’t even have masks on. If they couldn’t keep up with how busy it was last night they should have stopped taking people at a certain time In order to keep up with Social Distancing Guidelines. All of this happened and I didn’t even get a chance to go through the haunted house. This was my first time ever going to a haunted house and it wasn’t even worth my time. I definitely won’t be coming back and it’s not worth the $18.
Honest review: I paid $45 dollars for 3 people which wasn't that bad. My self, husband and 8 year old son went. They had characters walking around while we waited in line to enter the haunted house which was nice. You stay in the house a total of 15 mins we timed the people who went in before us. I won't spoil the inside festivities, let's say we did a lot of laughing rather than screaming. My 8 year old son thought it was the best haunted house ever, which I think is because it wasn't scary.
The general admission tickets were $18 apiece and the wait in line was an hour and a half. The fun was outside waiting to get in. The staff tried to keep everyone entertained especially the 5ft clown! Once inside, you moved around in a 10 minute maze of horror. Pretty weak!! At least, we got candy from the freaks inside. Try a better haunted house. This one is not worth the money.
This was the second stop on our Chicago haunt tour and we came from Oregon to see it!!! I had no idea what to expect and I was blown away by what I saw!! Started out with a monster terrorizing a van full of teenage girls for 10 minutes in the parking lot!!! That was awesome and great way to engage the patrons!! The queue line was covid safe and the haunt did everything right with that stuff, including the great maintenance guy at the front with the sanitizer, great use of the character with covid compliance!! The haunt itself is shorter than some haunts but what they do inside way makes up for the size! The actors from start to finish actually engaged with you and made you part of the show, sit down here, stand up against this wall, sing a song with methat went terribly south quick!!, play a game, etc. They were having a great time being their characters and i have a feeling the haunt owners allowed them to develop their characters and it shows! The end maze was very unexpected and awesome. I was truly confused and then surprised. The staff and crew did a great job on this haunt and the actors created the best experience. I went through 7 pro haunts in 3 nights in Chicago in early Oct 2020. Dead Rising and Evil Intentions share the top spot on my ranking of haunts from that weekend and Dead rising did a great job earning that. My friend and I talked about it all weekend and really enjoyed the style of the haunt!! Great job to everyone who worked hard to put this on!!
Waited over 30 minutes in line just to be inside for less than 5 minutes. I felt ripped off. I can’t believe they charged us $20 a person just to be inside for 2-3 minutes!!! They had at least 30 people in line inside a closed space cramp tent. No social distancing at all. People were neck to neck. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone
Dead Rising is an intimate haunt located in the back area of a strip mall near a McDonald’s in Crestwood, Illinois. The McDonald’s is key for anyone needing to use the restroom, as this haunt doesn’t provide restrooms. Dead Rising isn’t your typical walk through haunted attraction with winding dark corridors and monsters popping out with shaker cans, it is much more interactive. After purchasing my VIP ticket to bypass the 30 minute wait I was placed with 4 youth from the general line. The actor tried to split up the groups of friends and place one from each with me, however I do believe the entire line knew each other. I didn’t ask, but had the impression they were somehow a large group of classmates. The groups are limited to around 5 people due to the immersive nature of the scenes and the space in the small rooms. I have been attending many haunts alone on my Midwest trip, so it was kind of fun to be placed with kids that were so excitable. At one point they nearly trampled me to escape a clown. I enjoyed watching the actors interact with them more than my personal experiences. I felt like the opening elevator scene took an especially long time, but other than that the scenes were effective and timed perfectly. The actors did a great job of playing out their scenes. I personally found it to be more of a fun immersive, than a scary haunt. I won’t be in town for their adult event, but I spoke with someone about it and apparently it’s an even more immersive version including blood splatter, adult language and more. It’s a unique event and a good stepping stone for those interested in immersive haunts.
D.E.A.D. Rising is not your typical haunted house! The haunted house is an old school type of haunt with a lot of in your face interaction! The actors, the details, and the sets are all spectacular! Both the extreme haunt and regular haunt are a blast! I highly recommend visiting the haunt during Halloween season, as well as when the extreme haunted houses are held. You will not be disappointed!
