DeKalb Police Department sponsored a "National Prescription Drug Take Back Day." It was well run with personnel available to help take the medication. They also provided you with a sheet regarding the event and resources for someone with an addiction problem. What a great community resource!
Came to my side first. I'm a passenger. Not the driver. Made me sit on the concrete for an hour then to pat me down 2 times, 2nd time just violated me in my opinion. Wasn't necessary, They just want money and to take up your night even if you work a 10 hour shift and just want to sleep.
Thanks to the concerned citizen who turned in my license to the police department. And many thanks to the department for taking the time and effort to get my cell number, call me and arrange for me to pick up the license after hours on 10-17. You are appreciated!
I recently went to DeKalb Police department to file and report fraud due to identity theft of my name and social, the officer who came in to ask me about what happened proceeded to interrogate me instead of listening to the course of events I was trying to explain to him, he ask why was someone able to steal my identity and proceeded to say I could have given my info willingly to someone to use then came to police station to file fraud complaint so I would not be responsible for damages or cost that were ran up under my name and social, I was at a lost for words when he started treating me the victim of identity theft like I was part of the crime instead of helping me clear my name, I felt so upset I stormed out of the police station very upset and in disbelief that of which just happened when all I wanted was help, I feel this officer purposely drove me away from trying to clear my name not that he could clear anything, I went to police station as outlined in a fraud reporting website for a particular company that my name was used to aquire utilities without my knowledge or permission in a state I've never even been to or lived. Luckily my ordeal with the officer was recorded . I intend to voice this matter to proper authorities who may see as I do that people in the public you are being paid to serve and protect can receive that protection without being humiliated or made into a criminal when you have not committed a crime and are just a victim of something you have no control over.
My friend was following a bus and when it pulled over into the bus zone off the main road to make a stop she pulled around it. A cop stopped her and lied and said she forced the buss off the road. She lost her license because she couldn't pay the fee. I wish we would have caught up to the bus later to ask the driver for his name so we could call him/her in as a witness, but we couldn't figure out which one it was or who was driving. Does not understand the meaning of protect and serve.
I was ass ended at a complete stop at Annie Glidden and Hillcrest today , called 911 and was put on hold then was connected to them and they told me they would send help 5 minutes later I see a police drive right by my accident and thought wow they don't even know I'm here ! And then 5 minutes later they drive by again and don't stop ! I call again and I was told they are very busy!! Real ! And was told it will be a while I wasn't a priority ok , so I wait and call not twice but 3 times ! After an hour they said they couldn't respond to help me !!!!!!! I was told by dispatch that they would send a NIU cop , Real ! I'm glad I wasn't severely injured !!!!!!! So I ask the NIU cop is this lady going to get a ticket ? And his reply was it would be up to his disgression , and I'm thinking I'm at a complete stop and she hits me ! The profession of the the police department completey sucks and don't have any regaurd for law biding citizens or the safety of others ! Have a safe drive when you go threw this town the police there have no order !
Nothing but problems since I moved here. Certainly don’t have serve and protect down as an entire police force. A real shame for me as a single women living here and just wanting to feel like I could call if I really needed assistants from my local police department. One more than one occasion, this has not happened. I wish that I didn’t even have to give one star.
Thank you to all the officers and police department staff that are putting our safety above their own by keeping our home safe during this virus pandemic. You are the true heroes and we are so grateful for you.
Extremely caring officers, always have great encounters anywhere you see officers. Had some car trouble and it’s never a problem getting assistance. Thank you for what you do!
If you think our police department isn’t fair maybe you should watch Chris Rocks video on “How Not To Get Your Ass Kicked By The Police” It’s a public service announcement and would work if you applied what it says. You can find it on You Tube.
