Den Herder Veterinary Hospital has been serving the Cedar Valley since 1972. Our ambition is to serve our clients and pets as if they were family. Our practice has a strong focus on preventive medicine while still providing the best in sick patient care. Extremely happy with our experience at Den Herder. Our long time local vet suddenly closed and recommended Den Herder. Our pup was already scheduled for spay surgery and they honored our original date and everything went perfectly. Both a nurse and Dr Garrett called after surgery to let me know how it went and how our pup was doing. Dr Garrett even called the following day to check in on her. Everyone is so nice and compassionate. I couldn't have asked for a smoother transition. Looking forward to continuing with Dr Garrett for years to come. Thank you!
If I could give this place zero stars I would. Took me awhile to write this on the account of me mourning my animal. I understand this is a business and they have to make money. However, they were not honest with us about the price of our treatment. When we expressed our frustration and lack of ability to pay, the whole staff’s demeanor towards us changed. The “head nurse” think her name was Jan maybe or Joyce was incredibly unprofessional, and callous. Thankfully my animal made a full recovery without their assistance. On a separate occasion I made the mistake of attempting to take my animal there again for assistance and they refused to service me and my animal. That animal ended up dying, because there were no other available vets at the moment. Again, I understand they have a right to refuse service. This experience was my own, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone that doesn’t have tons and tons of money to pay for additional costs that aren’t disclosed at the start of treatment.
This is a very caring vet! They explain everything that is going on with your buddy and gives you options. I drive 2 hours to take my buddy and to me it's worth it Best vet place I have ever went to
Can't possibly describe how warm and comforting Dr. Laurie was. Made sure that all of my questions were answered, and that I knew the team would be there for my kitty - and me!
I never expected to be treated with so much compassion I never expected to be treated with kindness with my kid izzy They gave me and my wife the opportunity to spend our last Moments with our kid Izzy she was a part of my family They made it so comfortable for her and appreciate that very muchI'm baby is in heaven now...
This is our family vet. Hands down. Always great. We recently had to bring our family cat in.. my lil buddy we rescued. We learned he had multiple tumors lining his colon. The vet was so kind and informative. We decided to put him down to prevent further suffering. The vet was so personal and empathetic. They have a serene garden space and separate room for the pet and family as the process was performed. My lil buddy passed resting on my arm. My head against his. The vet was so caring. I qas touched. We received his ashes last weekend. They also gave us a clay paw print.. I was so touched. They understood how much he meant to me and my family. One last amazing thing. I received a card in the mail just a day or two ago. It was signed by the Den Herder staff.... all of them. It was a warming sympathy card. What an honor and tribute to our lil buddy. What a caring group of people. Thank you guys. Thank you so much.
They worked us in the schedule when we had an urgent issue. Professional and caring with both me and my cat. Great follow up phone calls as needed.
I’ve been bringing my parrot to Dr Cheney for many years. She is always friendly, professional, and gives helpful information. The staff has always been great, too. I especially like that my parrot stays in the room with me for nails and beak trimming. Most vet clinics remove the pet from the owner, which I understand to a degree, but as someone with severe anxiety, it helps SO MUCH to be able to be in the room.
Very nice staff even when my dog died they were nice miss him so much lambeau was my family not my friend my family my brother
