Called to make an appointment for ingrown hair cyst under my chin. I was told it would be August before anyone could get to me- it’s June. That’s ridiculous! I’ll pass. I will not be doing anything with this group.
Can I give no stars? I felt rushed in and rushed out. This was my first visit. I was to see Dr. Waller. The nurse was really nice, and actually spent more time with me than the doctor. I addressed all of issues, dealing with severe itching and felt like ants biting me in those ares. When the doctor waller enters, i have address all of issues again. He took one look and said, oh, you have psoriasis.I said I know I have more than 1 issue going on. He then said he would prescribe me a cream to help. I then asked if he was going to do a test to see what i have. He said, there is no need. I felt like I was begging to get something done. He was already aware I had this for 5 years.Long story short, he said he would do a hole punch biospy if it will ease your mind. The cream needed a PA. He received it thursday. Today is Friday, and he and his nurse will not be back until Monday.
I am a nurse and I asked if they could see me to have a cyst removed. I verified with them that they could do everything the day of the appointment prior to making the appointment. After arriving I was seen for approx 5 minutes and charged an ungodly amount of money approx $300 out of pocket for a 5 minute visit. Then asked to reschedule to make an appointment for the actual procedure which would be a small fortune. I decided not to have the procedure done at that time and then later tried to reschedule and was told I would have to now have another evaluation appointment before they could do the procedure. Mind you my primary care doctor saw me for a cold and was willing to try and lance it open right there during my primary care appointment. Ridiculous,
Highly recommend Dr. Lavinia. She is professional, to the point, very thorough, informative, and very patient and kind. She spends her time with you making you feel like her top priority at that time - I never once felt rushed like I have in other offices. She allows plenty of time for questions and doesn't mind breaking down and simplifying to make sure everything is understood and Never gives you the slightest feeling of being condescended to. I feel secure knowing that I can count on her knowledge for any more future dermatology related questions or concerns.
I had satisfactory results from my treatment. The doctors took their time to explain everything and were helpful but I had some issues at the beginning of the treatment. My insurance providers needed some documents from my doctor while my doctor told me that I have to take care of the issue. I was told that I can't keep calling the nurses expecting them to know everything. All I was trying to do was figuring out how to pay for the treatment because paying over $300 out of pocket every month was not affordable for me. In the end, the doctors helped me out with insurance issues but I still ended up paying for the first two months.
If you are a minority do not go here. The care provided is less than standard and they will make you wait in the waiting room longer. Treatments are botched and they have you come back several times only to charge more. We need more dermatologist of color to provide effective and efficient care and who do not mind explaining a procedure prior to administration.
Had a great experience. Dr. William Waller III has helped both my son and me. He removed a hidrocystoma from the right corner of my forehead, and has helped my son with his Eczema. No place is going to be completely perfect for any one person, but Dermatology South sure does come close.
My son gets good treatment here.
They have a 15 minute policy. I made it exactly 15 minutes after scheduled apt and they refused to let me be seen : then told me I'd have to wait another week. People with extreme health conditions can't just wait a week. They have to be taken care of.
I have been seeing Dr. Lavinia for over a year! I absolutely love her and her staff. They work around my schedule the best they can and they have been nothing but helpful and uplifting about my skin! I don't go anywhere else or trust any other dermatology clinic like I do Dermatology south!
