Destin - Fort Walton Beach Airport

Very nice airport. Flew in and out of here this month for the first time and I enjoyed it. The only downside is it being quite a small airport so there are not many food or shop options, and I guess you can call it my on complaint, when we flew home they only had 2 of the 6 security lanes open, mid day on a Saturday, so it took a long time to get through security. When we got to the gate our place was almost done boarding. Phew! Would like to see them running more lanes to limit the stress of travelers worried about missing their flights. Other than that, very nice, very clean and friendly staff. Overall a good airport to fly into!

Certainly, this was the smallest airport i’ve been in my life. But, do I think it was bad? Not at all. You can’t be lost in this airport or lose your flight because you can’t find your gate. For sure, you need to get there in your flight time and all will be good. Such a nice people working there. I had a great experience. Also, it was very clean and I have nothing to complain.

Very easy to get into and fly out of. Parking is close to the terminal, so not a very long walk. TSA was easy to pass through and everyone was friendly. Arrived at 4am and there were a couple of places to grab some coffee or breakfast.

Easy breezy! Love small airports! Short walk to baggage claim, another short walk outside to rental cars. See some local military planes taking off and see some retired ones across the way on the lawn.

Here is the airport from above. Delta is good here, American is bad. USO is good, get precheck and save yourself from the security.. it’s possible to get through this airport using delta and precheck in only 10 min. or so. 2 bars, a few places to eat or just grab a sandwich. It has direct flights to NYC a few times a week. So the airport is pretty convenient for the remoteness of the location l.

Small , some staff are nice but some are plain out rude I felt like the cattle when going to auction . Very crowded especially when bad weather causes a delay then the workers get even ruder not enough place to charge phone or they don't hold your charger

Never ever fly on Allegiant Airlines. The worst and I mean the worst service from the check in ,through TSA,to boarding the plane to the air staff. I can't believe they treat there customers with such rudeness. Allegiant is cheap but,horrible horrible service. Better to pay more with a better airline,then deal with these idiots!!!!! Rickenbacker airport,is so dirty. All the staff from Allegiant should be fired.. TSA,needs a over haul also.

Wonderful holiday area for beach activities for the whole family. Great weather with clean inexpensive amenities.

Crystal Beach was great. Clear water, white sand, clean beach.

Destin was great. It is a lot different from the Dallas, Texas hustle and bustle, but great. We loved the beach even though it was a 2 flag warning day, and we could only get our feet wet. Fudpuckers and McGrady were great as well.
