The DLPD is made up of sixteen full-time sworn police officers and two non-sworn support staff members. We provide 24 hour law enforcement coverage.
The Detroit Lakes Police Department Facebook page is designed to be an additional tool for people to contact our agency and for us to get information out to interested parties. We may include crime prevention tips, ask for your assistance in helping us identify criminal suspects, give out emergency notifications, let you know about suspicious activity in your neighborhoods, etc.
Our goal is to continue to provide top quality law enforcement services to our community and we need your help and feedback to do that.
The Detroit Lakes Police Department will work in true partnership with our fellow citizens to provide security, deter crime, and respond to emergencies.
Our lobby hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, excluding holidays. Emergency calls (911) are taken at the Becker County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center. At times that the DLPD lobby is closed, the phones are answered at the Becker County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center.
