♥ Diella Jewelry's History ♥
Diella Jewelry was started in 2009. I was laid off from my graphic design shop and looking for a hobby to fill my days of not working. I would make several trips a week to the local craft store just walking up and down the aisles trying to find something I would like to do/make. I signed up for a basic jewelry making class that they offered there and dragged my sister with me (who hated it!) I had fallen in love! I would stay up every night until 2 or 3 in the morning making jewelry. I would wake up and start making jewelry. At this time I was still learning the basics and mainly working with beads, but the ideas I had were endless! It was so refreshing to be doing something that I actual liked!
A few months later, I started working full time again as a graphic designer, but I still worked on jewelry almost every night and on the weekends. I was bringing it to work and selling it out of the trunk of my car at lunch, selling it at house parties and even starting doing craft shows. That was when it was all still just a side business/hobby.
Then in 2013 alot of things changed in my life. My husband had been sick over the past two years, we were trying to have a baby for the past 5 and finally going to attempt IVF. I was working my graphic design job and it was just making me more and more miserable everyday. So I finally took the plunge and decided (along with my husband) to try to make Diella Jewelry my career, not just a hobby. That was this past September (2013).
In the past year have been trying alot of different mediums and processes that I have fallen in love with! Selling on Etsy is my main focus, craft shows are most likely a thing of the past!

Custom Photo Jewelry and Keepsakes are my main focus right now.
My photography and graphic design background sets me apart from other photo jewelry makers. I am a perfectionist and I put lots of attention and detail into every piece I make!
I also make hand painted glass jewelry using nailpolish and I absolutely love it!
I was able to incorporate my obsession with nail polish with my other obsesssion - jewelry!
I was selling it here, in my shop but just removed it. I wanted this shop to be more cohesive and focused on the photo items. I will be opening a seperate Etsy Shop just for this collection very soon.
Lastly I am about to launch my Awareness Ribbon Collection. This has been a project I have been working on for months and is very close to my heart. I am so excited to introduce this collection very soon and can't wait to share it with everyone! It will be available in my current shop to start and once I see how it does may move it to my new shop once it's up and running.
Diella Jewelry is my baby and I treat it like one, everything from emailing, ordering of supplies and the actual production is all done by me. I have been working 18 hour days for the past 4 months doing everything I can think of to make it succeed. When you love what you do, working this much and this hard is worth it!
