Dillon State Park is a beautiful place to hike. There are several hiking trails and trails available for horseback riding and biking. The trails are well marked and the blazes are easy to follow. It usually isn't busy and most of the time, you have the trail to yourself. You should wear appropriate footwear for hiking, the terrain changes frequently. The path can go from smooth to rocky and uneven. The trails at Dillon State Park have a lot to offer. Restrooms: There are restrooms available in several locations. Picnic area: There are picnic areas throughout the park.
Nice little state park. Peaceful. Not too busy. Some areas are trashy. Lots of good fishing places. Lots of people fishing. Beach area is nice. Water is dirty though. Good place to relax during sunset. Good place to walk, picnic with family and friends.
Gosh this park has sooo much potential. It is so close to being amazing. We stayed in the cabins which I think is a deal for what you get. The story book trail is adorable and the kids loved it. The lake is breathtaking but it's just not taken care of. It would have been the perfect day to swim but the lake is not swimmable. It just needs some TLC.
About a little over an hour away from Columbus, Dillon State Park is worth the drive. Beautiful scenery with the hills and lake. Also has about every amenity you might want.
Stayed 3 day over the weekend. The cabin was great. Full kitchen with coffee pot and toaster. Had all the basics you need, bedding, towels and wash cloths, dishes, cups, utensils, pots and pans. The place was clean, had cable T.V., working fireplace, screened in back deck. Very quiet and peaceful sitting around the outside fire-pit. Enjoyed my stay, will do it again.
Dillon Park is a great place to Lake is phenomenal it is a beautiful Lake great place to kayak. I've been told by several that the fishing is is incredible as well. But we did not fish we took a kayaks out and paddled for about 5 hours.
Warm slightly breezy afternoon. Saw Ospreys, Herons and Mallard ducklings.
Fantastic state park with lot of activities to offer boating, canoeing, archery, beach, camping, cabins, tennis, basketball, volleyball etc and good flora and fauna. There is a camp store on site, and by the way they carry NY's Best Perry's ice cream. One pizzeria on site. The facilities are well maintained. Couple of towns 15-20 minutes away if you want more food options and shopping. Must do when you are in the area 1. Largest basket in the world - Newark 2. The wilds safari - Cumberland 3. Zanesville Potter- Zanesville 4. Tom's ice cream 5 *s - Zanesville
One of my favorite Ohio State Parks! This park has something for everyone. There is a great campground nearby. Cabins to stay in. Equestrian camp. Hiking trails. Mountain bike trails. Marina. Beach. The park is well maintained. While I was there they picked up trash a few times. I am taking one star off because the beach could use more than ONE restroom! The beach is very nice. Could use some tlc for sure. But there was ALWAYS a line for the restroom. At least they were new and clean restrooms to use!
I once was traveling thru this location to pick up some friends who lived nearby. I decided to stop here for the night. I set up my Truck tent and was greeted with a smile when I arrived. The Campground was very clean and well kept. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this location for all your camping needs.
