**7/27 UPDATE: MAINTENANCE FINALLY FIXED MY WASHER ON JULY 13, 125 DAYS AFTER IT BROKE ON MARCH 10** If someone could please contact me or give me an email address for someone who works there, I would really appreciate it. On March 10 of this year I submitted a maintenance ticket due to a leaking Washer Machine that caused flooding. I was told someone from GE would come out. They never did. Then, last week I called again and told them that the door to the washer also couldn't lock. I was told by a woman named Sharon ? that she would send someone out that day, at the latest this past weekend. It is now Wednesday. I have not been able to do ANY laundry since MARCH 10! The communication by this place is awful. If there is an issue with getting someone out here to help, all I ask is that you communicate that with me. Instead, I have to contact you numerous times and now result to leaving a review which I have never done before.
Currently here and let’s just say I can’t wait to move. They don’t do nothing they’re supposed to do like maintenance, pest treatment, the water usually breaks down and nobody tells you until you complain, certain buildings have mice, some have roaches, giant rats outside, bunnies are nice though, great area for geriatric people seasoned/ old cause the neighbors prunes. They complain a lot. The building doors sometimes are broke so they don’t lock. The water feature doesn’t work. The property manager is lazy only does half her job and not the part that actually involves fixing anything. Trash can sometimes look a hot mess, but they try to keep it manageable. Over all I regret moving here. Parking is trash too.
I’ve been trying for days to contact someone, it just disconnect me. Finally after few days someone emailed me. The email said you offer short ter lease for 3 months. I needed some more information and I emailed back - no response for days, again. I went to the leasing office and the person that was there told me that they only offer 12months lease. Then I said on your website says 3 months, she was like - Well we can maybe do 6 or 8! It looks like they are not interested in renting apartments!
I am so sad I have to give this place a 1 star. I have no idea what happened to this place but it used to be amazing. Currently, my roommate and I have not had a working washer or dryer for a month -- that's not an exaggeration, a full month. Thirty calendar days. We pay around $2000 a month for rent which includes working appliances. I asked for either compensation in terms of a lower rent or at least free use of the laundry facilities. Want to know what I got? I got two "free" washing cards. They each had $4.00 on them. However, one single load of washing costs over $2.00. The dryer? The same thing. Essentially, I could either only do ONE SINGLE LOAD OF LAUNDRY FOR THIRTY DAYS OR PAY IN ADDITION TO THE RISING COSTS. It's ridiculous, and I know that they are ordering a new washer for us but it has been three weeks. The remedy is less than adequate. I have attempted to contact the managing company NUMEROUS times. I have gotten no response to my continued requests or updates. I really cannot recommend living here.
Terrible management. When I first looked into this place the lady from the leasing office said she needed my salary/paycheck info to confirm financial status as they have 1.5x monthly salary to rent minimum. The next time I talk to her, she uses that information to try to get me to pay more for my monthly rent cost. Additionally when I came in for my first in person visit she made a comment about the car I drive and how much I am willing to spend on rent, EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. On top of that, she was very bad at accurately conveying the information we asked for: we received numerous emails with the wrong apartment information and rent costs they even tried to bill us more than what was agreed upon our first month after asking for the information multiple times and waiting a few days/week+ for a response. Unfortunately, I decided to go forward with the rental as the negotiated price was okay. I really regret this as the terrible management has continued. We never received keys for our bedrooms nor the main door key we only received the deadbolt key to our front door, the hot water doesn’t work fairly often at night, there is an open panel with exposed wiring in my closet that has never been closed, and we had a pest issue that was not taken seriously by maintenance pest control came once after about a week and then a second time with no warning. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!
Latest update: DO NOT MOVE HERE. My washer has been broken for almost a month, one maintenance request marked complete despite nothing being done, and nobody can be bothered to answer phone calls or emails. The office is currently not allowing in person interactions, so I can't even stop by to ask why they haven't handled my three maintenance request, answered my two emails or four phone calls. I've had multiple packages stolen, I complained and the office asked me to give dates and times of when packages were delivered and when I came home to find that they were stolen. I sent the office detailed information about the times they were marked delivered and the time frame for when they were stolen and received 0 follow-up. The office suggested I get packages delivered elsewhere. I have had some significant issues with maintenance. Earlier in the year, the boilers to my building were out for a week. There was very minimal communication from management about when it would be fixed and I ended up having to go to friends' places and gyms to shower — not ideal during COVID. I'm currently dealing with the AC unit being out, and it's the middle of July so that's not ideal either. Maintenance is also somewhat inconsistent — I have had low priority maintenance addressed on the same day and high priority maintenance disregarded for a week. I also had a low priority maintenance issue where the maintenance team which I believe was subcontracted out was not respectful. The day of the repairs a small moldy patch on my bathroom ceiling, I was taking a timed final exam worth 100% of my grade. I put a note on my front door telling them they had permission to enter and to please be as quiet as possible as I was taking a final exam. They knocked at the door persistently until I gave in and walked away from my timed test to answer. I told them to please be as quiet as possible because I was taking a final exam. They then proceeded to conduct phone calls and play music while I took my exam, and yes I could hear it through my noise canceling headphones playing my focus music.
DO NOT let the nice interiors fool you! The place is absolutely awful. Heed the reviews on this place! First, you WILL have rats and roaches in your apartment and management is unresponsive and uncaring about the issue. Another major issue is parking. They absolutely do not have enough space and if you get home past 8/9pm you will not find space and be forced to park on the street. They don’t allow visitor park because supposedly they need the spaces for residents, but there is NEVER enough space and they don’t have tow trucks regularly. Also if you care about cleanliness and safety you will be disappointed here. The complex and buildings reek of weed and there are many occasions I have come home to homeless people that come right up to the car asking for money or a place to stay!!
I've lived here for 5 years. I can't complain about the first 4 years but this last year has been rough. Hot water boilers have broken 2x already this year and I'm writing during a potential third time the office is closed and this is not considered an emergency so I have to wait until morning to report it and find out if it's just my unit or the boilers again. Parking used to be an issue; now it's not but they don't allow guest parking so if you have people over, they must pay to park on the street or have luck and find free parking in the back on Fairfax Dr.. Trash & recycling are insane; there's only one dumpster for however many residents there are now and it tends to pile up. The walls are a bit thin so if you have loud neighbors, you will hear their conversations/music/instruments. I do appreciate the location and ease of walking to so many things... i.e. the metro, many restaurants, movies, and more.
Updated: I received a call from the management this morning and they mentioned that they may change this policy because it is not only inconvenient but potentially expensive. I hope they move forward with that change. I appreciate their responsiveness to my issue. The lockout policy is ridiculous. They will not let you back into your apartment if you are locked out after hours. You’ll need to wait/sleep outside overnight until the office opens the next morning. Policies like that are entirely unacceptable.
I moved here in April and at first I really liked living here. The location is great and the renovated apartment is very nice. However, maintenance takes forever to respond to requests and management is horrible. I reported seeing a couple roaches here and there over the summer and asked that my apartment receive treatment so it wouldn't become an infestation. They never treated the apartment and now we are seeing roaches every day. Since our downstairs neighbors moved out last week, we see at least five roaches every time we turn on the kitchen light. And it has nothing to do with our cleanliness. I sweep and wash the kitchen floor every night and bleach the kitchen counters every time after cooking. No matter how clean we are, the roaches still come. I will definitely be moving out after my lease is up. I had to buy roach killing gel on Amazon and I plan on doing the treatment myself. It's absolutely disgusting.
