Disney's Hollywood Studios

Description

Disney's Hollywood Studios is a theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida, near Orlando. It is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company through its Parks and Resorts division. Based on an idea by Marty Sklar, Randy Bright, and Michael Eisner, the park opened on May 1, 1989, as the Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park, and was the third of four theme parks built at Walt Disney World. Spanning, the park is dedicated to the facets of show business, including film, television, music, and theatre, drawing inspiration from the heyday of Hollywood in the 1930s and 1940s.Disney's Hollywood Studios initially opened as both a theme park and an operating production studio, with active film and television production services, an animation facility branch, and a functioning backlot. To increase public interest and the variety of film representation within the park, Disney entered into a licensing agreement with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, wherein the park's original name was derived. The park's current name took effect in 2008, with the removal of the MGM-branding throughout the park. The park's icon was originally the Earffel Tower from the park's opening until 2001 when the Sorcerer's Hat—a stylized version of the magical hat from Fantasia—was erected in the park's central hub. It then served as the park's icon until its removal in January 2015. The tower was subsequently removed in April 2016. Currently, the park remains without an official designated icon, although both The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and The Chinese Theatre are represented as such in marketing materials.

Hollywood Studios is a great theme park. It was easy to get in and begin to have a fun day. On this day they had a lot of characters out and you could take pictures with them. The drink options are plentiful in this park. There are a variety of food choices as well. There are plenty of rides to do, shows to see it really a great park
I haven’t been here for years! Just as a maxing as I remember it. I did miss the great movie ride, but all the new attractions made up for it. My favorite was Toy Story. The details are incredible! From the games to the props to the ingenuity. The architecture and colors is absolutely amazing. Make sure to get into as many places as you can. Weather you know it or not. Each one is very entertaining!
My time at the Hollywood studios was magical. Nothing to complain about only the long lines, but that's expected when you have many people from around the world coming to a place of wondrous joys. I would definitely be coming back with my son and may do this as a yearly event for him if he does good and also as a reward and vacation for myself as well.
Great time here. Lines were a bit crazy which I guess is just how things go now. We made the mistake of showing up in a heat wave. Areas had more shade than magic kingdom but not by much so it gets hot quick. Mickeys railroad ride and slinky dog kept going out of service which caused huge lines at everything else. Food was ok but a lot of the fast eat restaurants were just out in the heat which sucked. Shopping was pretty good. Where are the magnets????? If you like pins you're set. If you like magnets make sure you bring rocks to kick cause there aren't any. Toy story mania and the railroad were my favorite rides in all of the parks which was nice. We also hit the frozen show about halfway and sitting in the AC for 45 minutes was a game changer and really gave us a second wind so I recommend that!
This was our favorite park of the trip! The Star Wars: Galaxy Edge was the best part. The food was good. The drinks were good. Everything was great! This park seemed less packed, the wait time for rides weren’t as bad, and we enjoyed all the themed attractions.
Disney's Hollywood studios is probably my favourite of all the Orlando Disney parks. It seemed quieter than the other parks and is nice and east to get in and out of. There is plenty to do for parents and children of all ages with fast and scary rides for the teenagers and smaller roller coasters for my five year old. We also managed to meet loads of our favourite Disney characters and we didn't need to cue up for too long to meet them. I highly recommend seeing the Indian Jones stunt show, its great fun.
This park is an amazing park with some great rides. Rise of the Resistance is like no other ride out there. It's a complete experience where you're part of the story. This park has it all for all ages. Frozen sing along, new and exclusive Mickey Cartoon Theatre character meet and greets thrilling rides and rides for kids. But it does get very crowded with long lines. Take advantage of early admission if you're in a Disney hotel or get there at open for the rest of you. I highly recommend Genie + for this park. If you're park hopping this should be your first park then finish with Epcot or Animal Kingdom.
Had such a great day here. This park of all 4 had less shade areas though, so on a hot day its super hot. The Star Wars area is not too be missed. The details area amazing, although Toy Story is the most adorable.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$31+
There's more souvenir stands then there is rides. The "lightning lane" pass is kind of a rip off. You can only use it once per attraction and every two hours. So you're really only able to use it like two to three times. Lines are so long for such a quick ride. Everything is super expensive! Way to expensive. You have to be careful, you walk in and can get an small bottled soda for like $6+ but if you go further in, you can get a large 32-44oz iced soda for $5 or little less. It's obvious where their ideology is as well. It's no longer "pride month" that they celebrate, but you would think it's still June to them. Mainly went for the Star Wars area for my son. It's no wonder why it's being closed. There's hardly any rides. All of them are video rides. While it's cool the first time. There's no real reason to go on again. The Indiana Jones show wasn't what you'll probably think it is... Instead of doing like a play, they interact with you and act like they're filming a scene... While it's kind of cool to see the Pyro and all, it just would have been better if they treated it more like a live action play or show without the "this is how we film scenes" gimmick. Bottom line, it's way too expensive for what you get. Plus the park closes so early, it's not like you can do a whole lot. So you spend most of your time standing in lines for a quick 2-3 min ride... If it was like around $50 max, then that would be more fair. But $100+ no way... I was considering going for a second day, but after the little we were able to do, then there was no way... They can do away with more than half of the souvenir stands and shops to put more rides. Need more actual rides as well... but it's almost like you're paying $100+ to visit a mall with extremely overpriced merchandise and the occasional video rides...
Title: A Cinematic Wonderland Review: Disney's Hollywood Studios is a magical place that transports you to the glamorous Golden Age of Hollywood. From the iconic Star Wars galaxy to the thrilling Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, there is something for everyone at this park. I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail and rich theming in the nine lands. The meticulous craftsmanship of the rides and attractions is evident, and the atmosphere is magical. The service at Hollywood Studios was also top-notch. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they went out of their way to make sure my visit was enjoyable. Overall, I had a wonderful time at Disney's Hollywood Studios. It is a must-visit for any fan of Disney or movies.
