I have been to Huron Valley Hospital in Commerce many times for different procedures. In fact, I volunteered there for awhile until covid hit. I think it's a wonderful hospitaI. I was there recently due to an emergency & my nurses were outstanding! All the staff were great! I have to give a shout out, some hand claps & a pat on the back to Kimberly, Rafael & Allison in the cardiology ward. I was treated with so much kindness and caring and everyone was so supportive and sweet to me, it was just a wonderful experience & I thank them! I would recommend anybody to go there.
My outpatient surgery itself I had no problems with. The staff was competent and friendly. The billing staff gets negative stars. Before even having surgery they call you to have you start paying your bill. If you can’t pay it all upfront they will set you up on a payment program. Like most people having to pay upfront prior to a surgery and can’t just throw out thousands of dollars I said to the women I wanted a payment option and we set it up. This was back in January. Fast forward to the month of June. I have paid my monthly payment we agreed upon. I go to pay my bill today and they sent me to collections. Contacted the billing department and they say they have no record of me having a payment plan so they don’t care if I have been making monthly payments so they can’t help me and I have to now pay through the collections people. Due to the fact I had in fact been set up for a payment plan and made those monthly payments and I got sent to collections for it. I will NEVER step foot in that hospital again. Edit to add to your response since it won’t let me directly reply. I will absolutely not contact you guys. I will not feed into once you post a negative review on social media is how you will finally get someone to help you. What about all the innocent people who don’t do social media or are older? Why can’t your staff know how to already deal with these situations? Absolutely unacceptable. The collection office I had to contact was beyond kind and even said this stuff happens all the time. She was way more understanding then the person I talked to through the dmc. Since they said it won’t affect my credit since I have been making payments, I contacted them before they even had time to contact me because you know how I’ve been paying my monthly payment so I caught it quick. I’ll happily continue to pay my bill through them and never have any type of contact with your hospital again.
I had a c section in may and I just wanted to say how happy I was with my experience. It was my first baby and first major surgery. The nurse I had I believe her name was Nicki was phenomenal. She kept me calm while I was having the spinal block administered and then was amazing afterwards while I was recovering, trying to help me figure out breast feeding and even just teaching me and my husband how to care for a newborn. The anesthesiologist nurse also did great talking me through the procedure so I didn’t worry. Another nurse that I had during my stay was named Lauren and she stuck out to me as well. She was very helpful and caring. Overall, all of the nurses were great. Nicki and Lauren just went above and beyond to make my experience great. My OB also complimented my incision so Dr. Bryant must really know what she’s doing. Highly recommend the birthing center at Huron Valley!
I am Beyond Angry and Disappointed!!! My 9 yr old Granddaughter, who has Cancer but in remission, has been sitting in the ER waiting room for almost 3 hrs!!! She is having a Bad reaction to Something, is Covered in a rash, face flushed and looking so bad, yet Still she is left waiting! Complete BS! Was told they have No beds...well get a bed from somewhere and bring it to a hallway for her Or come see her in the waiting room, Do Something!! This is So wrong and Completely Unacceptable!!!!!!!!! If you can't handle Treating patients or care enough to DO something then maybe you should close your doors So Mad!!!!!!! UPDATE= My Lil Lexi has Finally been seen. And the Doctor and Nurses were Awesome!!! And although I believe them making her wait SO long is Unacceptable,...her being seen by the Awesome Doctor makes things a bit Better
Best hospital experience of my 74 year old life!!! Every staff member was pleasant, competent, kind, skilled, caring, happy! I felt extremely well taken care of. If I ever need to be in a hospital again, I would choose HVH!
Went In for a pinched nerve and the doctors thought it was something else and sent me home with pain med that did nothing for me after morphine wore off. The doctors were children here and I waited over an hour here for them to give me a “bandaid”, basically relieving my pain temporarily but fixing nothing. The next day I went to Henry Ford where they made sure the pain would not come back at home. These people just want your money and genuinely don't care about anyone. I got a bill that was 1600 without insurance, luckily I have insurance. But now I am stuck with 2 bills since I trusted this place. Go ANYWHERE else but here.
First ER I've been to who was willing to treat my blood clots without insurance. Previous efforts at other hospitals only yielded a single dose of the medication I cannot presently afford and a prescription I cannot fill. Staff are friendly and competent. Thanks to everybody who had a role in my treatment.
My dad has been there for a week now, he was diagnosed with lung cancer and the nurses can not tell him anything that is going on, they sit at the nurses station, on their phones, and fighting with one another. Literally yelling obscene language! So unprofessional. They don't come in and wipe down his room, his table is all sticky. I had to bring in clorox wipes and wipe everything down to make sure he doesn't get sick. I feel like I'm visiting a hospital in a 3rd world country. If he wasn't getting out today, I would have definitely moved him to Providence Novi. Now that hospital is amazing! I'm sure nothing will get done about the issues they have here, just an "I'm sorry to hear about your experience" blah blah blah
My wife was required to have surgery here as an unpredictable circumstance took place. The office that decided to go through DMC for the surgery location had warned us of the ways they will do anything to try to get you to pay for procedures up front, even though payment plans can be arranged. After a payment schedule had been determined, a random call from a guy who spoke horrific English, had tried everything to get us to pay the bill that night, or provide additional insurance to have more covered so they could get money. Of course, nothing made any sense as a payment plan had already been set in stone in order to make sure this would eventually get paid. The guy kept arguing with me and told me I'd get charged twice, somehow?!? Like a scare tactic to get me to just dip into my life savings to pay that minute. 3 months into the payment process, now a random contractor that works with debt collectors calls my wife and doesn't disclose any actual debt to be collected without having to pay a fee to find out if we are in debt to someone. Turns out, DMC "automatically" sends out patient info to this company and makes it sound like you're now stuck with a collection agency. God knows if we are as I called and spoke to another person with bad English who told me that my payments were still intact and that I can keep paying. DMC. You are a profits first hospital. It was uncovered that you operated this way since pandemic, when patients needed covid care and you sent your staff home instead of treating patients. Not everyone has thousands of dollars to pay medical debt, especially when they're trying to recover from an operation. I have done everything in my power to pay any bills on time or arrange payments only to have late evening phone calls trying to crawl into my wallet as if your company is broke. It is broke, in the compassion it provides patients.
A great big shout out to Amanda at DMC Physical Therapy! Since coming to this facility I have gained strength, mobility, and a renewed sense of courage and confidence. Amanda and the entire staff has helped me both physically and emotionally…. Everyone treats me with kindness and respect. The entire crew should be recognized for their professionalism and dedication! I will be recommending them to everyone I meet! Amanda step High into your Destiny, reach for the stars because you are one !
