Don Gorvett’s large color woodcuts are designed, cut and printed in his studio in historic downtown Portsmouth, NH. The woodcut is a major vehicle of expression for the artist. The artist’s examination of abstract shapes and colors are primarily expressed through the architectural and maritime landscape, capturing vibrant harbor activities that shape coastal cities and towns of New England. The PFA studio and gallery also shows the work of regional and nationally known artists and printmakers whos works are found in public, private, and museum collections.
