Adam Whiteside, born in Manchester England, and his wife Jessica Valentine Whiteside, born in Manhattan New York, both relocated to Walla Walla from San Francisco, CA. Adam, a designer and builder, and Jessica, personal assistant and project manager, decided to escape the endless hustle and bustle of the SF Bay and try their hand at a long-dreamed-of, simpler existence, where stress and worry were not so prevalent.
We both chose W2 after an exhaustive search of all the cool little towns that we had on our radar across the US. Our reasons for choosing W2 were many, including climate, geographical location, bustling wine/food industries, multiple colleges, but most of all, the place just 'felt' right, (and the folks, well, let's just say, y'all rock). A friendlier, more welcoming community of folks I would be hard pressed to find. A smaller town with a healthy dose of culture and a strong sense of history is what we were after, and W2 has delivered, and then some. We were also impressed with the artistic community, with so many locals expressing themselves creatively, the fit was perfect. We have dreamed of opening a vintage/second hand store for years. Something that would cater to our aesthetic and off-kilter sense of fun. We both enjoy design, in all of its different iterations, be it funky clothing, unique furnishings, things with wheels, or just inanimate objects that just sit there and look neat.
It is our goal to bring our sensibilities to those that share our vision. We are hoping our little corner of Colville St. will immediately spring to mind when someone is looking for that unique piece at a very attractive price. Some of the items we offer include mens / womens clothing and accessories, both newer and truly vintage (think funky and fun… :); furnishings (for a lot less $$ than one might think); vintage bicycles, tricycles, and pedal cars/tractors (Adam has a thing for neat old rusty stuff); truly one-of-a-kind hair accessories (Jessica is on fire, handmaking these goodies); and everything in between. Our shop will be one of continual change, keeping things fresh and most of all, fun...
