What huge disappointment… I mean I don’t know where to start but I’d say as a French expat, I’m super sad to see that this establishment is not what it used to since they changed ownership. Definitely not French anymore in every way. The service changed and now you need to go at the counter to order, what a lost of French soul here. No table service, you need to serve yourself. Ordered a pot pie… canned/frozen veggies, watery pie and the chef hair was inside… Taste was not bad but once again definitely not French and how it used to be. Unfortunately this was the last time for us.
Sadly this will be our last time visiting until the reviews say otherwise.. we have visited three times over the past two months hoping to have amazing meals that they use to produce so well. But twice we ordered- The quiche of the day and hash browns that seem to be over cooked & frozen then heated up … they use to be so fresh. Our croissants were not flaky but hard as a rock & the coffee was burnt :/ We hope this place gets back to where it was in the past!! Two stars because the service is still very sweet.
Great brunch, and our waitress is amazing! I didn’t have chance to get her name, but she is really kind and sweet. She is impressed us. Made our day!
Let me first say, I seldom write reviews but I felt it necessary to write this one as our brunch on 9/17 was horrible. I don’t know what was worst, food or service! We have been frequent patrons of this hidden French cafe and have been for 5 years and have always received great food and service. What we received this time was noticeable different in tastes. The ham, cheese and butter sandwich was horrible and all you can taste was bitter butter… The roasted potatoes were swimming in butter and garlic and were soggy and disgusting. They also managed to mess up our order. Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill under the new management and sadly we will not be going back here anymore. Good job ruining an authentic French food and experience!
I happened in with some time before my first client on a Saturday morning but not much! and it was busy so I was getting nervous when the clock was ticking as I was waiting with my number on the table. Finally I saw someone with my omelet and soup and knew I had just enough time to consume some but it was a large portion and I would be needing to find a to go container and with so many people there and waiting this might cause a delay for me to leave in time. I enjoyed my hot perfect temperature! tomato basil soup while I pondered the dilemma and to my pleasant surprise just as I was finishing my cup of soup Niccolo magically appeared to ask if I needed anything.. in a bustling restaurant full of people standing around everywhere! Just came right up to my table to save my day I am quite disciplined to ensure I am prepared well in advance for my own clients but it is not a level of service I expect to receive in a situation such as this! I was dressed for work scrubs but otherwise no way he could have known of my need and situation. Excellent service and I will return often and earlier if it’s a weekend! = THANK YOU NICCOLO!!
in one word HORRIBLE. The NEW MANAGEMENT changed the recipes and it’s terrible. Hollandaise sauce is this watery “thing” in the picture. The hash brown patty is so hard I hurt my gums. I think they added too much flour to it. I alerted the kitchen and the new owner came out with a defiant attitude. “Yeah the hollandaise sauce is broken”. And then continued to tell me that they went more “traditional” with the English muffin. Not one time he apologized but he did offer to make another sauce hollandaise and replace the hash brown with potatoes. Which he did. The hollandaise sauce came back looking like hollandaise sauce but still not on par with the one I used to love. It’s also disappointing that the prices went up but the quality of the meals went down. I also expressed concern about the loss of French flair in the bakery but he seemed unfazed by it. It’s the end of an era. The people around me agreed too. Oh well… I guess they should change the name too from Douceur de France to Douceur du Roswell. Eh?
One of the best desserts i’ve had around Roswell. The one i had was royal chocolate. The crispy cracker inside tastes very good with chocolate.
So, I really want to like this place because I have been going there for years under the old owners. Today, this is what much of my salad looked like. Black on some leaves, brown on others. The leaf on the bottom right... I don't know what that is...dirt? I do know that my lips felt like grit.
Best little French place in Roswell. Food, service and location all amazing. I will be back. Had chicken salad croissant and desserts all fresh.
My husband and I took are granddaughter here for her special birthday breakfast and it was wonderful! The staff and the new owner went above and beyond in making this a delicious meal and special time. We had the quiche, the ham & cheese breakfast Panini sandwich with roasted potatoes and a side salad. Everything was fresh and cooked excellently. The pastries and coffee were delicious, too. We loved the relaxing and calm atmosphere. Almost every table was full, but the food came quickly. We will definitely be back!
