Support local family owned businesses! Been coming here for as long as I can remember. Family owned, incredibly hard workers. They have great donuts, sandwiches, boba, lotto, scratchers. The nicest family. And open early and super late and open six days a week.
The best doughnuts around made and served by the BEST people. So kind and friendly. Had to edit because I forgot to mention their food options. The hot dogs are massive and delicious. They slice them and grill them so eat bite has a crisp crunch to it. On any other hot dog I just get mustard but here at Johnny's, I get the works- mustard, ketchup, relish, tomato, lettuce, and onion although I omit the onion. On a sesame bun. Heaven. So good. The fries portion is huge too. So much bang for your buck. Can't wait to go back!
The best bear claw I've ever had, service is friendly and coffee is strong. They also offer burgers and fries and boba. Definitely the neighborhood's best kept secret.
Very good donuts, however the lady that works behind the counter is rude, lazy and worst of all actually lies about their donuts. My family has finally stopped going there and are now buying from nearby shops.
Owned and run by the same family in my lifetime. I'm in my 40s and this place has been a constant in El Cerrito. Fantastic variety of donuts and if you want to get some warm food they have breakfast sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs, and fries. Cash only but they have an ATM machine inside. Guilty pleasure but I'm always happy when I stop by this place. EDIT: They accept VISA now.
If you’re gonna eat a donut, you mind as well eat a good donut. It’s good to support locally owned businesses, also you know the place is good when the menu has the old school look
Been coming here for 32 years and probably will never stop. Breakfast sandwich and lunch special are both great. Call ahead and give them 15 mins.

Amazing local donut place with great prices and excellent customer service. Staff is very diverse and owners are nice and funny. I've gone here several times for cheap but delicious donuts and coffee. Also #1 on Yelp! for donuts near El Cerrito!
