There were 4 people waiting in line at the deli in the afternoon. The lady working behind the counter ignored all of us while doing her own thing. When someone tried to get her attention, she told her to go down the counter to get help. No one was there either. Lots of workers just standing around doing nothing. My cashier was great though.
It is incredible how bad or nonexistant customer support is. It is impossible to find someone to ask for help, but if you manage to do so, they are incredibly unhelpful. I've been to many Safeways, but I've never seen one this bad. I will continue to avoid this god awful place even though it is the closest one to where I live.
Cashiers here are great. Unfortunately there are usually only one or two of them. You can tell a lot about the management, spending more on security guard payroll than cashier payroll
This store is dirty. The lobby is full of flies. Not an overstatement. Full. Of. FLIES. Save your money and your health. Ease on down the road to Trader Joe’s. At least they can be bothered to mop the floors at their store. This Safeway is disgusting and they have the nerve to sell food. Yuck
As I was working on a doordash order, and was confused as in where to get the order from. This super nice lady named Dora that was cleaning seen that I was confused and went out of her way to ask me if I needed some help. She ended helping me out by telling me where to go and going to the back to look for my orders. She honestly deserves a raise since it’s hard to find good people that go out of their way to help someone else.
Every time I come here the self checkouts make this experience a -1/10. The "one way in one way out" nonsense? You're clogging up lines and the only way out is through a 2 and a half foot exit gate at the end of the self checkouts. I'm done coming here. It's such a miserable experience. Not worth the hassle. I feel sorry for your employees who have to enforce this garbage. Leave it to corporate to make poor decisions that negatively effect everybody who isn't in a conference room with a suit and tie. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Don't even bother leaving a customer service copy paste response to this either. We all know none of you actually care.

This is the most incompetent Safeway I have ever visited! I placed an order for the bakery over the phone. The gentleman took my order and confirmed I could pick up my order the following evening. I showed up at the store and they claimed to have not received my order. Store team members spent 15 mins running around "looking" for my order. They told me I should have placed my order online over the app or in person when I arrived at the store. They then proceeded to tell me they were having issues with online orders. If I had to place the order online or in person then why did one of the employees the day before take my order over the phone? The manager, Tiffany, was also unhelpful and basically said there was nothing she could do. I could take the basic cupcakes that were available or get nothing at all. There was no additional effort made to try to rectify the situation. Now my niece will have no birthday cupcakes to celebrate with her class since no other bakeries are still open to fill the custom order by the next morning. If this is the standard of training and customer service, I will not be purchasing anything from any Safeway bakery anymore.
I sincerely appreciate and praise an unknown-name employee who works at bakery section and his/her leader Heysia Escobar! On afternoon of July 11th 2023, due to wanted to catch up trainBart, I had a hurry shopping in this store. After opening Safeway App to see the coupons, I lost my phone. I double checked the place where I have been and asked related people, the answers all were "No". You know, nowadays nobody will return a phone that picked it up by himself. I was almost despairing. Ms. Heysia Escobar showed up. she asked her co-workers was there anyone looking for phone? Quickly, she showed the phone to me, let me use my fingerprint to open it and tell me the reason. I'm very touched, want to see the finder, but he/she already left. I want to reward some money to thanks, but Heysia kindly refused. I from my heart to appreciate the unknown-name employee. he/she is so honest and has a very good work ethic. It's very precious! Also I appreciate and admire Heysia Escobar. She received information and reacted at first time, resolved the problem calmly. I was tired, confused, anger, anxious and emotional at that time She knows computer very well, corrected the mistakes of my transaction expertly.... Obviously, both guys have been well trained and practiced. What they do reflects the quality of the team at the store.
