I love looking at historical homes with original architecture and furnishings. This mansion has original blueprints on display and you can wander through many of the original rooms. I loved the windows, the views, the original icebox, kitchen, fireplaces, and servants quarters. There have been a few changes but overall intact. We made a quick stop in Jerome and we definitely want to go back for more sightseeing. The guys working in the museum were very friendly.
Lots of information at this location. The museum is two stories and full of history, pictures and displays of all sorts. Very well organized and put together. Enjoyed this very much with my mother on our road trip.
We enjoyed touring the old mining history. They had this amazing trolley car I had to capture the story along with the beauty in the green grass and trees peaking through. The flowers were so gorgeous!
We went to the Douglas Mansion before we left Jerome altogether and I'm so glad we made this visit. We've been coming to Jerome for years and never visited this park area. So thankful we did. There's a video you watch about Jerome and it's history, most things you don't learn even from the locals. The mansion is in great shape and a lot of originals remain. It's definitely worth the few bucks per person to go in!!! Enjoy!!! Restrooms: There are restrooms inside, after you've paid to enter the mansion. Picnic area: There is an outdoor area where people were seated and a large parking lot with sight seeing areas. I'm sure something could be found somewhere, but I'm not 100% sure. You're minutes from Jerome, which has restaurants and eating areas outdoors.
Great museum and an interesting documentary. It's unfortunate that they make no mention of the native American people who occupied the land before the copper mines were raided.
Jerome unfortunately has turned into a tourist trap, where once it was a quaint small town to enjoy the many amenities now everything is way over priced but if you dont mind paying $18 for a burger or just bring a picnic theres a lot to see here and enjoy, walk around and explore.
Fascinating museum, well curated. Lots of fun things to look at that kept my kids engaged. I enjoyed reading about the history. Definitely recommend if you are headed that way!
When you are staying in the Sedona area check out this Museum! The town for sure is amazing but don’t skip the Museum!!
Loved the "ghost hosted: historical film. The man in gift shop was knowledgeable & enthusiastic. So much information & amazing views from the museum. Worth seeing! Also we loved seeing the rocks room. Restrooms: Clean
I enjoyed my visit to Jerome St. Hist. Park. The Douglas Mansion and the extensive museum were great. I also liked the Geology expert that was on site. He was able to provide a lot of insight on the mining exhibits.
