Nice piece of SLC's history. Loved the exhibits and learned a lot. The volunteers there are very knowledgeable and always tell funny jokes. This place deserves more funding!
If you're a military history fan, this is the place for you. Hundreds of interesting artifacts along with a number of vehicles, helicopters and artillery pieces.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
This is a really fun, little museum. Entrance is free and the men who were running it when we went are very knowledgeable and knew the answer to every question we had about the artifacts in the museum. My kids, ages from 3-10 years old, all enjoyed themselves and I found it fascinating. If you're looking for a free museum to take your kids to, I recommend it. It is small and not high tech, but the exhibits are interesting and thought-provoking.
My son who is on the Spectrum, loved the visit. He loves to study the World War 2 Era.

During our visit to SLC we took our last day to go to a few different sites, including Fort Douglas Military Museum. Being both interested in historical sites, it was neat to learn the history of SLC and the fort in general. The volunteer misc. Dead German soldier in The Devils Brigade was amazing! It was nice to have someone walk through and give us so many extra details as we walked through the museum. Thank you for taking care of history and sharing it with the rest of us!
Attended an event here. I’ve driven past multiple times over the years but never entered. Great collection of history are contained within the walls and on the grounds. I recommend paying a visit.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entryFree
There's not much to see inside. You really come to see the handful of tanks, helicopters and vhicles outside. The tours are interesting as an adult but might be rough for younger kids. I wish it was twice the size. That would give it a little more to do. I hope they can expand soon. As for now, if you just come to see, you can do the whole museum in 10 minutes. You really need the tour to help give context for what you're looking at.
This museum is a fantastic place ot learn more about Utah and the contributions of the people in Utah during the various wars. The couple at the museum were fantastic! They knew so much about the various items on display and even more that brings so much context to the history all around the museum. The museum is located in a beautiful area of Salt Lake City and is a great place to take teens and young adults! Would highly reccomend!
This is a great little museum for the kids, specially if they like military vehicles. It was closed indoors due to covid, but the big ones are outside for you to go and see. Amazing historical pieces. We were the only ones around 2pm and my boys just loved it!.
