They serve kids lunch @10:45am I came back after 4years and dang this park went down the drain. The best thing about is the grass and the baseball diamond. Theirs garbage everywhere. The swing is broke. Tagging on all the benches. Their is a city worker here rite now cleaning up the throwing up garbages but I think they just can't keep up with the campers that sleep here occasionally overnight.
Great place to just relax and stay cool. Dog-friendliness: Lots of grassy area for a dog to run around
Depends on the day. A lot of times there are too many homeless people there. My granddaughters have cheer practice there and it's unfortunate you can't use the facilities.... Restrooms: Never send your kids alone most of the time. There's homeless people hanging around the area
Did not have as much time as I would have liked there, and seeing as how I was walking through alone rather than playing on the playground with children I can only give a review as to what it is like as a grown man taking a nice walk. The park is well maintained, I did not see much trash outside of the trash bins and as a matter of fact I did notice a couple of Park patrons going around and picking up some of the garbage that was on the ground, so I can safely say there are good people there. I don't recommend going to any park past dark, but this is one you would not have to avoid during the daytime.
Nice and shady with a playground, softball field with bleachers. There are also tennis courts and a small walking trail.
I took my dog here for a little picnic at the park and I met a super-chill girl, we enjoyed a sandwich and Mac salad together and played with my dog for a couple of hours. I hope we get to see each other again soon and maybe I can actually ask her out on a date with just us. Overall I was very pleased with the whole place. Lots of space and actually a fairly clean and inviting atmosphere. Restrooms: Clean but it would be much better if they put a soap dispenser in the bathroom to wash your hands with Dog-friendliness: Friendly dogs gotta love them. Picnic area: Clean and lots of space
The bathrooms are always thrashed. If they are even unlocked. But aside from that it's alright i guess. Theres plenty of other parks that are way better that arent all that far away if you are mobile Restrooms: Homeless people spend excessive amounts of time in the restroom which has the layout of what you would expect to see in a County Jail, and that's not an exaggeration, it just is what it is. And if people are gonna do drugs in the park bathrooms, they need to at least not lh_⁶⁵⁵ the eave paraphernalia all the over the place when they are done. H7ave some respect for the families that are who the parks were intended to be used by. Be more discreet. And when you are do-$ Dog-friendliness: I like that the water fountain has the second part down low for the dogs Picnic area: The picnic area is actually pretty cool. I like that the water fountain has the second part down low for the dogs
Ants. Ants ants ants. The bleachers are old and splintering, the play areas leave much to be desired with their minimal design and the bathrooms are a joke. They don't even have garbage cans in them! The park has a lot of potential though.
My grandson's football practice is here it's a nice park but the bathroom is a little creepy and there's homeless people that hang out around there
I am not rating this low because of the park itself but because of the riff raff that has taken over the park. I have been coming to this park since I went to school at Downey High. It started getting bad about 10 years ago and in the last few years has considerably gotten worse. If your kids are older, like 13 plus and you dont leave them there alone, I guess it is cool, but young kids, just not the place to go anymore.
