I’m so happy I stumbled upon downtown dental. They are very professional and take time to listen not just rush you and move on to the next patient. Doctor Yousef has very good bed side manners. I love the location and they actually call you back. A good dentist is hard to find. I would highly recommend Downtown Dental for your dental needs.
I have been a customer here for over 15 years and have experienced all phases from its humble, but customer quality centric beginnings - to their incredible incline to notoriety including the old wall fountain that I jokingly said my 6-7 root canals paid for :- that also was customer and quality centric, now to what seems to fee like a volume focused - less customer centric, dental factory. There is something to be said and experienced when a Doctor office goes from Doctors owned and operated to private equity/venture capitalist owned/operated and staffed by Doctors. I noticed this change in my post visit about two years ago - when no one called me back to follow up on my treatment plan. Most recently, I had a visit in which pretty certain of the two treatments I needed and had mentioned it when booking the appointment. During my visit, we focused on one treatment, but I had to press for the other which was simple and could have been done the same day. My appointment was for an hour. Within 20mins of my appointment, I felt rushed. I was told that I couldn't get my filling because my Dentist had an emergency appointment what was put in at the 30min mark of my appointment. As a pt that has had several emergency appointment during the old Downtown Dental days, I am sensitive to this however, my dental needs are important as well. I felt like my appointment was compromised and my time was wasted. I live far - about 40miles from this place. Needless to say that I changed my flight to make this appointment on time. All, to be rushed out, told to reschedule and left there with no treatment was disheartening and aggravating. the simple filling could have been done during the remainder of my visit, but I was told that it would require the Dentist to bounce from room to room. Now do not get me wrong, my Dentist is great. Prior to having her, Dr. Patel the founder was my Dentist. However, she is operating in a volume based environment - a culture that she did not create. In fact, the only reason I didn't give this the 1 star my experience deserved was of my consideration for my Dentist. I expressed my concerns to the front desk and they were able to reschedule my visits to next week. Yes - I write this review knowing that I will see them next week for treatment. I am not one who throw stones and hide and I have the integrity to share this in person if needed. I have referred a ton of people to this practice and Patel could validate this. I really left there feeling like a Patient number 93844948484984830303948474034938 rather than a long time member of the Downtown Dental Family. In fact, I dont think there is a single employee there that has more tenure than my time as a patient. Sincerely Patient #: 93844948484984830303948474034938
I have no clue what happened here but they have gone completely down hill. I loved Downtown Dental and referred everyone I knew to them. I was a patient here for almost 10 years. Not sure what changed but I ultimately had to switch dentists. They cancelled on me multiple times, made it impossible to reschedule, then called the day of my appointment to tell me they no longer take my insurance. The woman on the phone was incredibly rude and not willing to help. Dr. Borga is great, but the office staff is incredibly rude, unprofessional, and off-putting.
don’t go here. they upcharge insanely went in for a cleaning and didn’t even clean.. bill was north of 400 w insurance. sent so many repetitive mails saying to pay and already had payment plans pending constantly.. looks like they don’t talk to billing or what. made it seem like my account went into delinquency UPDATE: they reached out immediately and apologized for the confusion and took care of everything.
Service was prompt. When there was a delay of Dr meeting me I was given an explanation of internet issues reading my x-rays. Dr was very thorough, gentle & pleasant as she walked me thru my cleaning. I was very pleased this was my experience after an appt with another Dentist I didn't feel comfortable with. I Highly recommend Downtown Dental Loop.
Oh man, this is so sad to write. But this office has gotten to be a complete money grabbing scam. I’ve been going here for 5 years. Recently something has changed. The dentists are still some of the best I’ve been to. They truly are excellent and provide a high level of care. HOWEVER the billing department here will bill you for things you did not receive OR will add on to things you did receive and have a difficult time arguing because you aren’t a dental professional. There have been several instances where they have simply billed me for something out of pocket that should have been covered by insurance but they add on an “extra” and now insurance will not pay for the addition. They do this without ever asking you if you would like the service. I’m still unconvinced I even received the services they’ve billed me for. When you try to call the office and discuss this issue, they have outsourced their billing office and will take no inquiries. This means you are totally stuck paying because if you don’t you get sent to collections in 90 days. This place is taking money from people and treating their clients/patients with no transparency nor respect. Stay away!!! And when they reply to this and say “sorry call our office” that’s a lie, you can’t get anyone on the phone. So please save your response.
Firstly, I rarely leave reviews. This was honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at the dentist. The appointment was nearly 30 minutes late. The hygienist was very rough with me when taking my X-rays, I was barely able to bite down on anything because she was just stuffing the X-ray thing in my mouth. Not to mention her general attitude was one of not caring at all that I was choking on the X-ray thing they put in your mouth. Then the dentist came in, proceeded to do the fastest cleaning in my life… now my gums are not in great shape so I was bleeding everywhere and clearly uncomfortable and there was little to no empathy besides explaining to me why my gums were bleeding. I winded up having two cavities and she showed little care IMO or reassurance about my anxiety around getting them filled. The general lack of care can be visualized by the blood smear on my face that they didn’t tell me about while walking out of the office. Overall, I will be getting my X-rays forwarded to a different practice for my fillings. Not great, very surprised by all the good reviews.
I never missed regular check up and cleaning appointment here and still ends up losing a tooth from bad cavity. The doctor showed up for 5 seconds every year and let assistant do everything. Last September which is only 3 months after my regular appointment, I had a pain and hardly get an emergent appointment scheduled. They asked me to wait and said someone will call back and schedule my emergent appointment but no one called back even till today. I had to find to another dentist but that tooth cannot be saved. There is a bad cavity for at least years but they won’t be able to find out. This place have nice looking facility on the surface but you will find the irresponsible doctor and staff which doesn’t do any good to your health.
3 of my favorite hygienists have left over the last year and a half. They now have only 2 hygienists left. I am on a 4 month cleaning cycle and could only get an appointment 6 months out. I wonder what this practice is coming to. So sad! May have to find another practice since they can’t accommodate my cleaning schedule. Please take care of your employees or you are going to lose your clients.
I’m so happy I was referred to Downtown Dental - Loop! The hygienist and dentist who serviced me were both wonderful. The cleaning was not painful at all and I am looking forward to my future appointments.
