Overall the bar is pretty good considering it's opening night. I expected a rush, but It has a chill atmosphere in the evening, which was a nice change in pace from the rush I saw during lunch. The tonkatsu is done pretty well. My only critique was that the pork belly on the buns was a bit chewy, which means the fat might not have rendered enough. Staff was attentive and friendly.
I was hoping and expecting something better than Jasmine Cafes ramen but I'm pretty sure it was the exact same. And I truly disliked that place. The ramen was so bland I didn't finish it and I ALWAYS finish my ramen. I ordered the tonkotsu and the pork belly was cold, not seasoned at all and hardly cooked. I also ordered the pork belly buns and my bread was very cold and had the sesame seeds thrown on the plate instead of the bread. The only decent thing about this place are the servers and the marinated egg. If you're looking for a real bowl of ramen go to "Ur Bowl". That place has the hearty, delicious pork broth you're looking for!
Plenty of menu choices and perfect for a date night. This location is small and has limited seating but makes up for it with excellent service. Prices are are great and the serving portions are large. Do not miss out on the pork buns here!
This place is perfect for all of the fans of traditional Japanese dishes. The ramen they serve here was amazing! The presentation and the size is perfect. The broth is rich and super tasty. Even my toddler enjoyed my Tonkatsu ramen. Friendly staff and nice environment. I can’t wait to try other dishes here. I’ll definitely become a regular. delicious!
Not too bad. Broth was thick and rich like tonkotsu should be. Noodles were a little lack luster. I was hoping for thick alkaline noodle but these are still close to soba in texture. Bit too much stuff in the ramen itself. Corn and the onion didnt add much, if anything took away from the flavor. Egg was good, marinated like it should. The nori sheets were also nice. Good portion over all was nice.
I came before Valentines day for my husband because I don't really like ramen, but he does. I was pleasantly surprised. The flavor of the broth was outstanding. Only have one complaint. I was hoping there would be more corn in the bowl since I had to withhold the onion and egg for dietary reasons. There wasn't much in there. Other than that everything was good. Hoping for more corn next time!
Great food! Filling and delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice and chill. Staff was great and I loved the happy cheerful energy they gave off. It makes for a better experience when the staff really seems to enjoy their work. Because it was opening week the place was packed with folks eager to try the new spot. It was so worth the wait! And even though it was so busy our food came out perfect and in great timing. We can't wait to come back for more!
A dinner at Downtown Ramen Bar DtRB is an unforgettable experience, not to be missed. It's a beautiful restaurant, the food is fantastic, the service incredible, and you'll be thinking about it long after the meal is over. The restaurant is very vegetarian friendly, with almost half of the menu being vegetarian with a vegan option. You really can't go wrong with any of the options on the pared down menu. I tried the curry and it was the perfect level of spiciness for me, as if the server had some sort of ESP, or had seen my entire life experience and decided on my spicy tolerance. It was delectable, bold, and absolutely incinerated my intestines. It tore through me with the awesome fury of the horsemen of the apocalypse, with a hint of sweetness from the coconut milk. Bravo. My friends ordered the ramen bowls, and they came fully loaded with veggies and accouterments to the meal, laden down with a veritable dragon's hoard of toppings. They also offer roasted garlic, DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS TOPPING. Ask for a bucket and thank me later. I have been to Ramen restaurants all over the US, and this one clearly leads the pack. It is simple, delicious, and won't break the bank. What more do you want? Do yourself a favor and go here now.
This place was so good. Great staff. Approached us immediately. Got our table ready quickly. Appetizers came out really fast. The ramen was to die for! Would recommend. Dining area is a little small but isn't an issue too much. Can be rented for parties and such.
First time at the new Downtown Ramen Bar. Though it was Saturday night, we were able to get a table quickly. The pork gyoza were our favorite appetizer, but the pork buns were nice as well. The waiter was responsive, informative, and friendly! I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, my husband the chicken curry. I'm hesitant with curry because I can only tolerate moderate heat, but this was fantastic. It definitely had heat but not unbearably so. My nose ran a little but I wasn't begging for milk! Amazing flavor! My tonkotsu was excellent! Love the rich broth and the egg was perfect! We will definitely be back when we visit Tallahassee again!
