I had a new patient exam and a crown replacement with SD modern dental and my experience was great and I will certainly be returning. Going to a new dentist can be a bit nerve wracking but I was quite pleased with the team here. The front desk staff member Ryan was very warm and welcoming and the dentist Gail Burgess was especially kind and professional. She was quick and thorough with the procedure and it was much more painless than my previous experiences. I am happy to be their patient going forward and grateful to have found honest people to rely on.

This dental office is state of the art, my dentist was knowledgeable and articulate, but I question the quality of care.  After my X-ray and examination, I got the following treatment plan. - deep cleaning on the left side - deep cleaning on the right side - and inlay for a cavity  They refused to do a routine cleaning because I needed the deep cleaning  I got 2 second opinions from other dental offices and found that I need a routine cleaning. One of the dentists called my treatment plan from Downtown SD Modern Dentistry "unethical".  Do your homework and if you feel the treatment plan is excessive, get a second opinion.

Love this place! Every is very nice. Casey did a great job with my cleaning. Dr. Hoffman did my fillings.  her and Alejandra were funny kept me entertained the whole time. Ryan at the front desk will answer any question and has been so wonderful!

I have been coming to Downtown SD Modern Dentistry for years now and have always had a pleasant experience. Every person you encounter whether it is over the phone or when you are in the office is welcoming. I was originally referred to this practice by a friend, and I would recommend it to anyone else who is looking for a dentist office.

Absolutely love the entire team at Downtown Modern Dentistry! Our entire extended family now comes here and I often recommend them to those looking for expertise, comfort, reasonable rates, and above the top friendly service and care. Our family has all manner of dental care here and the team always works with us to get us the best rates and options for dental care.

Every interaction I’ve had at Downtown SD Modern Dentistry has been a positive one, even when dealing with a few dental issues that weren’t so fun. From my first phone call, to scheduling, to my actual cleaning and dental work itself — everyone was kind, helpful, and did a great job of explaining everything and answering my questions. I worked with Jonathan, Casey, and Dr. Kaila, and I feel like they all went above and beyond. Would recommend!

Elena Ortiz at the front desk was super helpful & nice, worked with me on payments. Dr. Gail Hoffman & her team explained everything to me & answered all of my many questions about the procedure I needed. I was a little nervous & the whole staff made me feel at ease. I would recommend them to everyone & glad I was well taken care of.

Today, I had deep cleaning appointment scheduled, and I have to admit, I was nervous. As someone who doesn't particularly enjoy going to the dentist, I was apprehensive about what the experience would be like. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional care and attention I received from Casey, the dental hygienist who assisted me. She was incredibly kind, gentle, and attentive, and she made the entire process much more comfortable and reassuring. In fact, I can confidently say that this was the best dental experience I've ever had. I believe Casey deserves a raise for her outstanding work and her ability to make her patients feel at ease.

I scheduled an emergency appointment here and they completely botched the scheduling. It was scheduled for a week later  from the agreed upon date and at a different time. They suggested I stay and wait a “long time” for the doctor to be available. Would recommend the staff be more diligent when scheduling appointments for patients

Dr. Hoffman and her staff are the most  friendly and knowledgeable team that I’ve ever encountered. The treatments are always very gentle and pain free, and all patience are handled with the utmost kindness and thoughtfulness. I would highly recommend this practice in particular to people who are very afraid of dental visits like myself. You can trust that the team here will take care of you in every way, including financial arrangements. This is really the best dental practice in my opinion.
