I gave birth with a different practice in August. Their care left me feeling less than human and completely unimportant, so I thought I would try to schedule my 6 week postpartum follow up with someone else. I called this office today, after being turned down by another office earlier in the day, and explained even though I definitely shouldn't have had have to that my previous doctor made me feel unsafe and that I just wanted to do my postpartum follow-up. I was told, "your previous doctor wouldn't really like it if you did this." I, for the SECOND time in the call, said that my doctor made me feel unsafe and I just wanted to have my follow up. I was then told, "well, it'd be better for you to see your current doctor because we don't have your records or anything like that." Your receptionists have an over inflated sense of importance and a severe lack of tact. Unless they are licensed medical professionals, they shouldn't be giving advice. And, even if they are, patients aren't calling to get advice from them anyway. They're calling to set up appointments. A simple "we aren't taking new patients" would have sufficed in this, not the "the doctor who abused you is going to be upset when they find out about this" sentiment that I received.
Just had my 25 week appointment. Your forced to cycle through all the doctors and having to explain every time my medical history is stressful. I'm a high risk delivery and I'm a scheduled C-SECTION under general anesthesia only! I was referred to Dr. Weissman by CNY fertility. Last 2 times I went through sisters hospital clinic and they treat perfect way better there. The lady who was scheduling me at the end needs 1 heck of an attitude adjustment! She's telling me when I'm going to deliver! I can't go into labor and she's arguing with me. Better off at the clinic where the doctor spends more than 2 minutes with you, knows you and plans for my high risk delivery. Thanks for ruining this pregnancy experience!
This review is for Dr. Smyers who unfortunately isn’t with the practice anymore. I only got to see her once before she left and now I go somewhere else, but I hope she sees this someday because she is amazing! She did a pre-conception appointment with me and she was so reassuring and kind. She was the only doctor I’ve seen that was not condescending or judgmental about my family’s mental health history; she took extra time to talk about what I’ve been through and was very thorough and holistic with my care. I’m so sad that she’s no longer treating patients but I’m grateful for such a positive experience.
Had one fantastic experience with Dr. Ball and then when I returned the following year for my annual, was informed she was no longer with the practice but saw another Dr.Dr Caul maybe?? who was just as nice. FF to late last year I was having an issue and asked to make an appt- which i got, went in, waited until after my appt time which I understand that sometimes the Dr's get backed up when the Dr. finally came in, I felt completely rushed through the Appt. I understand that Dr's have many patients but I feel that you need to take your time with your patients when you are with them and not make them feel that they are a "bother" or inconvenience. Wont be coming back to this location again.
I want to give this office 5 stars because the doctors are fantastic - make you feel so comfortable and are very compassionate. But, the office has a terrible job staying on schedule. I always have an early appointment, and still wait 45-60 minutes in the waiting room, and then even longer in the exam room. As a working girl, this is very frustrating. With all of our technology today, how can this practice not do a better job of predicting time?!?? I wish this wasn’t the case, because it’s so hard to find a good doctor. Not sure I will stay with this practice though, because my time is very valuable to me!
This review is specifically for Dr.Weissman. He is my first OBGYN Dr from 2016 to 2020. I used to went to St Mary in Niagara Falls and then I moved to Depew and went to this office. He has such a calm demeanor, and procedures were fast, accurate and efficient. I always came in anxious but came out feeling better about myself. Thank you Dr for helping me in those anxious moments. If not for I had to move out of the state, I would continue under his care. He is an excellent Dr.
While it may be possible that these horror story reviews are true, my wife started going here when we found out that she is pregnant. I go with her on every appointment and we have liked the practice very much. Dr jeyalingam is awesome and is a nice lady who is easy to talk to and feel comfortable around. My sister who works at sisters hospital knows more of the obgyn's at this practice and she said they are nice too. Also there has been a couple times where we called in while she was sick with questions about whether or not she needs to get in and they have done a good job answering questions and alleviating any concerns. One time we even called after hours and got the answering service which we told them our questions.they said a doctor would get back to us and maybe half an hour later Dr ball called us. Great obgyn, don't let people deter you from a good practice!
I came to this practice halfway through my pregnancy because I was unhappy with the service I was receiving at the previous office. I am now 2 months post-partum and I had a great experience. I saw all of the doctors, but I saw Dr. Smeyers the most and she delivered me. Other than occasionally waiting and a mishap with my short term disability work it is a doctors office after all-waiting and mistakes will happen everything was great and I will continue to go here.
Not a good office. Not patient oriented - most of the doctors only spend about 3 minutes with you after you’ve waited 20 past your appointment time. If you’re pregnant they force you to cycle through all the doctors making you feel like none of them know anything about your situation. They mess up appointments and bring you in to THEN tell you they can’t do the test they scheduled and want to reschedule it for the following week. Last year they called me to remind me about my appointment which I assumed was my annual but was actually a confirmation of pregnancy test that I didn’t order but they tried to insist I did. I later realized it was about the timeframe when I called THE YEAR BEFORE when I actually was pregnant and was seen. If you’re scheduled for a 7:30am appointment don’t actually expect to see a living soul until about 7:45, no one even at the front desk so you wonder if they’re actually open. The staff there are all friendly enough but you gotta ask yourself when is enough, enough?
Used to go to this office until about 2 years ago when they did not take my insurance any longer. I was kind of mad that my doctor changed and no one made me aware until I called because I was pregnant. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that my pregnancy was not normal but Dr. Smyers refused to do an ultrasound because the blood work was enough for her to determine that the baby was not going to make it. I insisted on an ultrasound but she told me they don't do them until further along because you can't see anything in the ultrasound. After this experience and going in to have a medicine to hurry the miscarriage along, she assured me that this was a normal procedure and it is very common. After this experience I wanted to have my tubes tied and the office called me back and told me they can't help me because they don't accept my insurance. I am very glad I no longer go to see this doctor because I have one now who is great and very thorough!!!
