Difficulty actually seeing the doctor. Despite requesting an appointment with him from my first appointment, I've only ever been dispositions to the Physician Assistants. The office is also very unresponsive. Many times the phone line says they are closed during their normal listed business hours. I will say, the PAs I've worked with have been great. It's just unfortunate that the rest of the practice seems absent.
Dr Kivett is a wonderful doctor. He is very knowledgeable, and explains everything in in a way that I can understand. His staff and PA are very efficient and caring. My husband and I drive at least an hour to go to the doctor’s office. We were patients of Dr. O'Connor, in Calverton, NY, also an MDVP doctor, for many years before moving to Poincianna, Florida. MDVIP doctors are very few and far between. We were happy to find Dr Kivett…however the travel time and traffic is difficult.
My wife and I have been seeing Dr Kivett since he opened the practice in 1984. He, Debbie and Keith are like members of our family well, actually, we know them better, and certainly see them more often than some members of our family. No one knows our health history better...
I credit Dr. Kivett with keeping my father alive 3 years longer than expected with his detail review of his medications and health issues. He is now doing the same for my 98-yr old mother. We will stay his patients as long as he's practicing. Thank you for all your wonderful work.
If you want to experience a "real" doctor as I remember, Dr. Kivett is your guy. He is a thoughtful, knowledgeable, guy who will explain to you how it all works. Pretty amazing in this day-and-age.
When my previous doctor retired, I was concerned about finding another doctor that listened, didn't rush you thru an appointment and had the experience and compassion to understand what I needed. I found that, and much more in Dr. Kivett. The highest praise I could give Dr. Kivett is that I brought my 92 year old mother to him and she loves him as much as I do.
Tried to get an appointment with his practice, was told when I arrived that the doctor I was supposed to see no longer worked there even though she was still listed as working there. Made an appointment with him instead for 2 weeks later and then the day of when I call to check in since I didn't receive a confirmation call, I get told they called me 10 times, my voice-mail is broken, and they cancelled my appointment because the provider had covid. I wouldn't trust these people with my health at this point, never going here.
Dr. Kivett is the most knowledgeable, caring, professional medical doctor I have ever met. He goes way beyond the expectations you may have in a health professional to the extent of calling us at home following a health issue to see how we are doing. This personal follow up is not limited to those issues he personally handles but even to the specialist he sends us to! He is truly one of a kind and we are blessed to be part of his practice!
Does this Doctor even work in the practice? I certainly was only trying to make an appointment with Dr. Kivett, and not his secretaries/NP. So much confusion regarding this office. The practitioners don't even want to prescribe high blood pressure medication when needed. I also noticed personal discrimination. If they don't like you personally, they will discharge you for no reason.
Dr. Kivett has been my MDVIP Doctor for about 5 years in total. He is thorough and patient. Most importantly, he spends as much time as you need to get the service you require. Never waited more than a few minutes to see him with appt and never struggled to find an appt time. Relaxing atmosphere with excellent nursing staff.
