Dr. Jessica Allen received her Certificate in Periodontics and Masters of Dental Sciences from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she has served as a chief resident and clinical instructor in the predoctoral clinic. Dr. Allen has done research at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, Using CBCT as a Diagnostic Tool to Evaluate Maxillary First Molar Furcation Defects, in vivo. This research provides the clinician with insight into the accuracy of standard clinical measurements of furcation-involved teeth to cone beam-computed tomography (CBCT) and help the dental community determine the place of the CBCT as a diagnostic tool. Her paper has been submitted for publication in the Journal Of Periodontology. She completed her doctoral education at the University of Nevada School Of Dental Medicine and graduated magna cum laude. During her time there she held numerous positions in professional dental associations, earned the American Academy of Periodontology dental student award for achievement in Periodontology and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society.
In her time practicing as a Periodontist in Las Vegas, NV she lectured for numerous dental study clubs as well as lectured at the University of Nevada School of Dental School. She started and ran the only female dentist study club in Las Vegas, NV as well as participated in multiple other dental study clubs. Dr. Allen has volunteered her services to the underserved in the Las Vegas, Virginia and Texas area, including children’s clinic, veteran’s clinic, mercy of mission and homeless clinic. She earned a bachelor’s of science degree with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She has close to a decade of experience in the field of dentistry and has collaborated on a number of research projects.
Dr. Jessica Allen was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV and enjoys the outdoors, football, cooking and spending time with her husband and son. Her practice philosophy is patient centered. She takes the time to understand the patient’s desires and concerns to develop the best periodontal treatment plan for each patient. She promotes whole body health and understands the importance of saving teeth and maintaining oral health. Dr. Allen specializes in treating gum disease, bone grafting, gum recession and has also been trained in aesthically enhancing patient’s smiles by use of periodontal plastic surgery and dental implants.
