Dr Van Wyk is by the best hand/wrist surgeon in my opinion. His bedside manners are awesome. When the nurses and staff speak highly of him, that speaks volumes as well.
I normally don’t leave reviews, but I was so impressed by Dr. Van Wyk and his amazing staff that I had to let everyone else know what a great place this is. I was recently diagnosed with trigger finger and decided to visit Dr. Van Wyk because the pain was becoming a constant nuisance in my life. From the very beginning I was treated with the utmost respect and professionalism starting with his staff and following through all the way to the doctor. He took the time to answer all of my questions and doubts which made me feel both confident and comfortable that I was in very capable hands. We scheduled my surgery and it was performed with no complications the following week. It's been about two weeks since that and my hand has been healing perfectly with no complications. I’m even writing this review with the hand that the doctor operated on! Dr. Van Wyk is an excellent doctor and I thoroughly recommend him to anybody looking for help with hand or upper extremity impairments.
My my mother-in-law recommended Dr. Van Wyk to me. He has treated both of my in-laws and they spoke really highly of him. I finally got to find out what all of the fuss was about when I came to see him last year with a mysterious pain in my left wrist. THE OFFICE VISITS: Dr. Van Wyk's staff is great; they are on top of things, accommodating, and kind. He's a popular guy and takes a lot of patients, so expect to wait a while while you're there. It's worth the wait. The nurse with the A&M Face mask I can't remember her name, sadly is a hoot and a half! Dr. Van Wyk presented me with a few theories of a diagnosis and referred me out for an MRI to check out what was going on. I received my MRI results and I was diagnosed with a Ganglion Cyst. This particular one required surgery, so I took about a year to save up the money to receive the surgery I wasn't making very much at the time, which is why it took so long. I note the time gap because I thought it was very sweet that he remembered me when I came back for my surgery consultation! THE SURGERY: The surgery was wonderful, he made sure that I knew what happened, what Post-Op instructions were, and made me feel as comfortable as possible. I was asleep for the whole process, so I assume he did a great job in the OR too. :D POST-OP: In my particular situation, I was sent home in a sling and a cotton bandage. The Post-Op instructions were clear and his staff followed up with me. It's been a few days since the surgery happened and I'm able to type this with both hands! I hope I don't have any more hand issues, but the second I do, I'm calling Dr. Van Wyk. Thank you, Dr. Van Wyk and team! 2 years of pain is finally over.
I have no words to describe how thankful I am with Dr. Van Wyk and his staff. He is a SUPERB surgeon, but an even better human being! Before and after the surgery he has been extremely professional and kind to explain us every detail. He was considered with our situation. There is no way we would be able to get my son's surgery on time, if it wasn't for him. Also, his assistant Angie is a real angel too! So blessed to find him!
New patient, my first impression has been great. From setting the appointment to my visit everything went smoothly. He is a caring doctor and his office staff are informative and helpful.
Speaking for my grandpa, Roman Salas, Dr. William was very patient, nice attitude, very professional in many ways since he interviews the patients, to finishing all kinds of treatment. His employers are the same ways as well, the nurses treat you very nice. It was all a good experience.
I can't say enough good about Dr. Van Wyk, excellent surgeon and did a great job on my hand. He fully explains things to you, doesn't rush you in and out. Both he and his staff are super friendly and nice! Thanks Dr. Van Wyk, so happy that I found you!
This doctor never even so much as introduced himself. Tried to pull me out of the room to take x-rays before the nurse had even taken my bandages off. I went for a surgical consultation and once he decided I did not need surgery explicitly said he did not have to do anything for me. I requested a recommendation for pain relief and was attacked for just "looking for opioids." and was then told "it's just a fracture. Sure it hurts but man up and deal with it." I then said I didn't ask for opioids, even a recommendation for ice would've been fine I was rushed to check out where my wife tried to ask followup questions. When that caused a lecture we tried to leave and he grabbed my wife by the shoulder so he could continue to lecture her. Absolutely the worst medical experience of my life. Do not ever go to see this awful past-his-prime doctor.
The best upper extremity orthodepic doctor in the DFW area! I highly recommend Dr Van Wyke. He and his office staff are very friendly and are very concerned about their patients! If you want a doctor that has a great bedside manner, who is concerned about their patients, a doctor that always sees you at your appointment and not just their assistant, then go see Dr Van Wyke!
Dr, Van Wyk has worked on my arm and hand 4 times total. And I am always impressed with him every time. I even sent my sister to him for hand surgery. I will always refer him to the employees where I work.. Thanks Patty
